Unlikely. If the infant does indeed have Down's Syndrome, that is far more believable if Sara Palin is the mother, as it is well-established that the risk of Down's Syndrome increases with the age of the mother. A 44-year-old woman giving birth to a child with Down's Syndrome is not surprising. A teen mother doing the same, however, is statistically highly unlikely.

And remember, there are some who honestly believe Obama has terrorist ties. Most political scandals along these lines are just complete BS

Is that because of genuine things he's done/groups he's involved with? Or because his name sounds like Osama?

Not really sure, there are a myriad of crazy ideas that promulgate themselves on the internet.

Indeed. I just wondered about the name as I remember when New Zealand band Shihad tried to break into the US market shortly after 9/11 and they had to change their name to Pacifier, because people there thought 'shihad' was too close to 'jihad' and so shunned them thinking they had terrorist links.

(Not the case; it was taken from the name of some worms or something in the film Dune).

Obama's link is with Ayres who was a terrorist. His girlfriend was killed while making a nail bomb. Ayres is much older now and he has never recanted the cause for which he placed bombs. Obama is not being linked with islamofascism that I know of.

Oh, and about Palin, that is a truly stupid accusation. I wanted to dance when I heard about her nomination! What a marvelous person. What a marvelous family. And being governor and mayor is much closer to what a president does than what a senator does.

It is possible for a woman to be pregnant and not show it. After all, women used to do all they could to disguise their pregnancies. Sarah Palin likely applied those old methods to modern times...or just be one of those women who don't show their pregnancy. My Grandmother was a small woman, and her postman didn't realize Dad was on his way until he appeared!

Sarah Palin is a brilliant choice for VP. She has leadership experience ( mayor and governor) and I heard she persuaded Canada to allow some sort of pipeline, so she's got a little foreign policy experience.

Ah, but now we both have egg on our face. Palin will indeed be a grandmother shortly, as her teen daughter is pregnant. Still, it seems that this first baby is definitely Palin's.

I don’t know how accurate this is but she’s supposed to be seven months pregnant here. What do you think?

There are pictures circulating on the net comparing her gestation with former prenancies with the non-existent signs of the latest one. As a woman who has had six children, I'm telling you, it just doesn't happen that way. We tend to get larger with each pregnancy (although small variations occur), and never go from being huge the first few times to not showing at all. Based on the pictures, I am suspicious. It wouldn't be a big deal for her to raise her own grandchild, but don't lie to us about it.

I am less than impressed with her environmental record. If she and McCain win, we can probably kiss what's left of our wildlife and national forests goodbye. :(

This family is starting to remind me of a song sung by another person named Palin:
