 It's a real shame they didn't hit him, I (and 6,000,000,000 other people) would have laughed my head off. You get the impression Bush is totally oblivious as to how hated he is (both abroad and in his own country), or maybe he just don't care. Good riddence Mr. Bush, you won't be missed.

It's actually a pretty strong insult from a Muslim, or at least Iraqi, point of view. When the Iraqis were 'liberated', they were seen banging their shoes against murals and statues of Saddam Hussein.

Anyone else find it ironic that the Iraqi Presidents name is Talabani? 8O

I watched the video, laughed a lot, and was impressed by Bush's reflexes in his ducking of the first shoe.

I am still amazed that he recognised an actual threat when it was headed his way.

I was impressed by his reflexes, they are surprisingly fast.

On the subject of George Bush in general I think he gets more crap then he deserves. He certainly isn't the greatest president ever, but neither is he the worst. In fact his greatest accomplishment is one he will never be given the proper credit for. And that is we haven't had a single terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11, we might not agree with his methods, and they may be more than is needed, but they have worked.

I guess all future press conferences (well, until next month) will be done 'socks only'...;)
Why does this administration have such a thing about getting people to take their shoes off?...;)

Yes, I too am impressed by the Dubya-dodge.

Yes, and while we are discussing 'not worst evers' I also cannot understand why people tend to think Jack the Ripper was a bit of a jerk. Sure he was not the best person ever, but if you compare his kill-tally to the number Stalin is responsible for the death of, he is far from the worst person ever.

Yeah, we also have not had a single impact with a comet of a sufficient mass to wipe out all life on the planet since Bush became president. Never mind the usual rarity of these events generally. It obviously must be down to the Dubya, which also leaves me wondering why so many people are down on rather than down with Dubya.
