I read yesterday that she is being charged with theft. She took some $25,000 in donations and went on a shopping spree. She even bought a computer! I suspect that was the point all along, free money, and her face was secondary. In other words, old fashioned GREED.

She accepted donations under false pretenses and got charged with theft. She's in Washington state.

She blamed it on a BLACK WOMAN! I find that insulting. Has anyone noticed the hate black women are getting from the media as if they really give a damn about BW's personal life and being successful but not being married. A bunch of hypocrites.

It makes them hypocrites because they themselves prize success over marriage. There are double standards. If it's a white woman who has success but no marriage, she is just simply waiting for the right man which is a noble cause. For the black woman it is twisted into there is something wrong with the black woman.

Geez, she mustn't have had an ounce of vanity then. I'm not breathtakingly pretty, but I wouldn't permanently scar my face for $25k, or even $250k, or for millions for that matter.
I wouldn't want a life where I'm judged for my disfigured appearance. What made this girl think she had nothing (looks, career, BF/hubby) to throw away and lots to gain by doing this to herself?

I doubt there would be as much sympathy for her if she anything other than a young pretty white woman.

So is she a poor helpless victim of mental illness and circumstance? Or a greedy lying low-life? I'd say either one, depending on how you look at it. But so is pretty much any other criminal.

I couldn't agree more!

If convicted, I think jail won't be the most appropriate place for her.

How say, a mental hospital?

People are forgetting or omissing the fact this lady is "hard of hearing."

Well, in her police report she says that the attacker said something like, "hey pretty girl do you want to drink this?" (paraphrasing) and when she had the press conference she describes her attacker as having a look of "jealousy and rage" so she must have thought herself pretty in some way to make these statements. I wouldn't think she sees herself as ugly. But who knows?

I cant see some stranger running up to a woman with acid in a cup unless the attacker knew her and hated her- even if it was for a stupid reason. That is usually something a bitter ex or crazy jealous rival might do. Something is definitely wrong with her if she did this to herself and made all of those public statements falsely.

Edit: I read the other story linked and this is what she said:
"When I realized it wasn't killing me, I thought maybe this was the answer to all my problems. To have a completely different face," Storro said, according to a police affidavit.

people can hate her but that won't stop me from praying for her. she has mental problems and it does no good to pile on her. love is better than hate. she made mistakes but so have we all, just in different areas that doesn't necessarily make them better mistakes. just different. sins of commission and sins of omission are both still sins.
