No, we would not have. The preferred target of the military at that time would have been Iran. I recommended that we just nuke the whole Middle East and move in after 40 years when it stopped glowing in the dark with the intent of building a Disneyworld Theme Park and pumping some oil. But I was accused of not being politically correct.

Yes we would have, the terrorists were in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Okay, I will concede that. But it still could have been a mistake on Cheney's part and not a lie. With all of the documentation that a veep or full president must keep in mind, certainly a mistake is possible. God knows how many of them Clinton made. Look at how many times Biden shoves both of his feet in his mouth. You should review some of the outrageous statements Biden has made. Hell, we should send Biden to help Putin! You still have to prove - which you can't because you can't put yourself inside of Cheney's mind, that it was a lie. If that's the case, I could have a field day with every president from Andrew Jackson on up. I see some evidence - but no concrete proof - unless, of course, we get to judge Biden with the same exact criteria.
This is a rather weak counter-argument, don't you think?
Five words with which you confirm your assertions were wrong followed by a rambling attempt at diversion.

Quite so--which is why I was careful to say, "knew or ought properly to have known."

I put carelessness with the truth on an equal footing with deliberate mendacity.

I haven't made any attempt to divert anything. But, seeing as it is an everyday occurance with the liberal movement, it's easy for me to see how you come to that conclusion.

ORly? aka "No, not me - but them, those people over there - they're always doing it. Look, see - over there." Again.
It's almost a comedy parody routine...

I think Wesley Clark is a pretty impeccable source. I'll take his word over Cheney's any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

Wesley Clark (known as Ashley Wilkes by those of us who serve) is a four-star idiot. He almost cost us a whole battalion of infantry in Kosovo - until Gen. Sir Mike Jackson of the British Army chewed Clark a new one. To bad I wasn't there to see that one. Jackson saved Clark so many times out there it was pathetic. My father-in-law's hunting dog could lead troops better than Wesley Clark. Heck, I'll kick his tail, and the most I've ever commanded in the field is 120. Of course, I've also seen 29 seperate engagements.

And I've had 29 separate movements in the last couple weeks.

Then you're lousy at math. Almost everytime you've posted has been a "movement".

Considerably more agreeable than a bout of dysentery, though.

Oh, I forgot - you're a liberal - as in liberals can sure dish it out but can't take it. Look, you asked for that one. You opened yourself wide open for it. When you fire out a wisecrack, you need to learn to be a man about it and take the return fire. Otherwise, keep it to yourself.
