Lawyer sues over Jesus

I wonder if this lawyer is just trying to make a name for himself. Why file a lawsuit when all the parties involved have been dead for 2000 years?

Gosh, I suspect that the lawyer is indulging in a publicity stunt. In other words, he is merely seeking attention.

In America, he could face sanctions or get disbarred for making such a frivolous lawsuit.

On whose behalf is he suing?

Unless you believe Dan Brown, there is no next of kin to award damages to!

When the Romans could find no reason to have him Crucified but the Jews insisted, Pilate washed his hands to show he had no part in it, so dont think there is a case against the Italians.

The Jews however, specifically asked for their guilt to be passed down through the generations:-

Matthew 27

24 When Pilate saw that he could not prevail at all, but rather that a tumult was rising, he took water and washed his hands before the multitude, saying, “I am innocent of the blood of this just Person.[d] You see to it.”

25 And all the people answered and said, “His blood be on us and on our children.”

Trouble now is, who could be proven to be the Jews of Jesus day?, the current Jew are mainly descendants of Russian converts so they wernt even around at the time of Jesus death, he would be better off suing the Palestinians as they have the greatest genetic line of decent.

Actually, since neither government or judicial system exists any longer, there is technically no entity to sue.

And this attorney cannot sue in Jesus' name, because He said, on the cross, that he wanted His murderers forgiven.

If this attorney is so determined to fight for justice, there are over a thousand African women abducted by various armies, suffering horribly.......his efforts in their behalf might help!

That "russian convert" nonsense that always flew in the face of the evidence was finnally snuffed out by modern DNA testing.

Russian Jews ARE descended mainly from people in the Middle East. There was virtually no conversion TO judaism, and there was a lot of conversion the other way, in medeaval Russia.

DNA testing confirms the obvious- that the Jews of the diaspora are more like each other- and more like modern middle eastern people than they are like the European Gentiles in the countries in which diaspora Jews live.
European and Isreali Jews really are jews from Judea.

Russians Jews are genetically more like modern Palestinian Arabs than they are like modern Gentile Russians. So atleast you're half right: Isreali Jews and Palestinian Arabs are genetic siblings- and both have a strong kinship to Jesus's countrymen ( the modern conflict there is a genetic equivalent of a civil war).

But that doesnt mean that this lawsuit has a leg to stand on.

You cannot sue a governmental body that no longer exists for an execution of fictional character....

Whether you believe in Jesus' divinity or not, I think most historians accept that he did in fact exist, and had died by crucifixion. But you're right, you can't sue a government that no longer exists. There is no continuity between ancient Judea and Imperial Rome and modern day Israel and Italy.

At the time that was presumed to be uttered (it is really a canard, you know) 90 percent of all the Jews in the world were living in Persia (aka Babylon). And even if a crowd of Jews uttered such a thing, it is not in anyway binding on future generations.

In short, that passage is a Lie invented by Christians to justify their hatred and persecution of Jews.

Or it was something stupid spouted by the chief priest that Antisemites in later times had seized upon. Regardless, I don't believe anyone is guilty of something they had had no part in. And just because you were alive during the time someone in authority had done something hardly makes it your fault, either.
