I was also hoping to see this in a telescope I was going to get this Christmas , shame really I would have had a hell of a view.

Real bummer for the comet of the century.

There should still be plenty of interesting things out there for you to see with your new telescope. Maybe you'll even discover a new comet heading directly towards us - and have it named after you, while the Earth lasts! (as in Deep Impact!)

Would have been a great sight though.
