Oh no. He was an excellent actor. I've seen him in many things, but the one that stands out is his turn as Lester Bangs in "Almost Famous".

Pity. The guy was good. But that's what happens when you make the decision to Ride the White Horse.

It actually pisses me off when people with that much to offer (like Heath Ledger), deprive the world of their talent by getting dead for no good reason.

This is so sad. I loved him in "Twister" and "Red Dragon".

He was SO excellent in 'Charlie Wilson's War'....Gus's widow came to the set one day when they were filming a scene, and almost cried....she said he 'did' her late husband perfectly!

Such a loss, such a waste, R.I.P.

RIP. Loved his work and really liked him playing Max, a guy with AS in Mary and Max.

I remember him best as Truman Capote, in the movie Capote.
I hate it when people die for stupid reasons.

I'd like to see 'Mary and Max' some time in the near future. RIP PSH. I always had respect for his talents. Didn't know he was addicted to heroin, though.

Philip Seymour Hoffman was from my hometown. His mother is a New York State judge and pretty prominent in our community. I can only imagine how she feels.

This is just sad all around. I was actually in shock when I heard the news. He was both a hometown inspiration, and one of the greatest actors of our day. My heart goes out to his mother, his partner, and especially his children.
