For decades (esp. when younger) I used to pay a lot of attention to the news. Eventually grew weary of having "seen it all before".
It's like Mad Libs: rotate through the particular details (country, conflict, political maneuvering) and the overarching themes recur ceaselessly.
Nowadays, I can only bear tiny tidbits of news with a lot of metaphorical sugar (humor & critical thinking):
Daily Show with Jon Stewart, Colbert Report, Real Time with Bill Maher and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

Do you think most people who watch Fox claim it's what they watch exclusively?

From the ignorance spouted by people on the far right, that's unfortunately probably true.

I love Vice. I am a big fan of any news source that actually writes more than 3-6 short paragraphs that may or may not have been copy/paste jobs.

That being said, NPR, Aljazeera, BBC, and Rueters are my primary sources of general news information.

Snopes and Factcheck are bookmarked for my natural skeptic tendencies.

I get info from some my professional society sites that apply to my job to keep up with physics and medicine.

I also pay close attention to MSNBC and Fox to stay in the loop with what the majority of extremists on both sides are going to spout off at me. But Fox is full of lies of distortion and MSNBC is full of lies by omission, yet both seem to be taken as gospel by certain crowds. Keeping up to date with the way large groups are thinking is also the reason I frequent certain sites with some fairly extreme views.

Local news, Fox, sometimes CNN.
I watch the news for the news, not political commentary.
Honestly, I can take or leave news because too much of it can be depressing and/or maddening.
