A federal judge struck down the District of Columbia's ban on carrying guns outside of a person's home, concluding it violates Second Amendment rights. The gun control never worked on crime anyway.

Another reason for gun-lovers to think it's OK to go around and shoot people.

If "gun-lovers" had the good manners to avoid going "around and shoot[ing] people[,]" before this court "said" they could, why exactly would they do so now? Are they hung up on getting permission? Do violent criminals really care whether laws allow them to commit their crimes? In other words, who is the violent criminal who has sat on his hands for all these years just waiting for this court opinion before he commits his planned crimes?

It seems to me that criminals, by definition, don't obey laws regardless of what a court might say. They don't seek court permission for stealing cars, why should they do so for shooting others?

Then how come the streets aren't running red with blood in all the other states and cities where people carry guns?

Guns can be used for protection or to cause harm depending upon the intentions of the one holding the gun.

University professor Gary Kleck, Ph.D., researched defensive and offensive gun uses and showed that defensive gun use https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Klec ... and_debate by law-abiding citizens stops crimes five times more than offensive gun use by criminals creates the crimes. That's 500 percent for the bean counters.
