Arab guy got SWATed by hotel desk clerk.

Ugh how do you expect them to respond when somebody calls in that there is a guy on a cellphone pledging allegiance to ISIS? They do not know that's not true, especially when they received multiple calls about it. It's an unfortunate incident but I don't think the cops did anything wrong here. The girl made the mistake but she seemed like she was genuinely terrified

I think you should read the entire article, and look up the definition of hoax.

This looks more like a woman had some sort of mental breakdown. Her sister only called on her behalf. No racism here, just a sick woman in need of help, not jail.

I think people should lower their standards when it comes to racist behavior.

Racism is not only about white cops shooting black teenagers; it's also about white people reporting brown-skinned, Arabic-speaking Muslims as terrorists just because some actual terrorists happened to also be brown-skinned, Arabic-speaking Muslims. That is called "Racial Profiling", and it's no less a form of racism than a white cop stopping a black teenager "on suspicion" just because some other black teenagers caused trouble in the past.

Denying obviously racist behavior only encourages more racist behavior.

If this turns out to be an elaborate, malicious hoax, sure. But I don't think it will be.

On the other hand we see what can happen when people don't report actual crime for fear of being branded racist, so racial profiling itself is a tricky subject.

Yeah.

-we've killed millions of Muslims over the last twenty five years
-bombed their homelands
-burned/peed on their Korans
-the new evil people in movies are Muslims (London has Fallen, Eye in the Sky. American Sniper, Zero Dark Thirty...)
-if a bomb goes off, people ask , "Muslim, right?"

Muslims scare the heck out of people.

We've been warring with them all my life.

My mom still says things like, "You don't cross those people, or they'll behead you".

This is not about racism, but genuine fear.

Is that how they should of responded in Orlando or San Bernardino too?

Have you ever had a gun pointed at you? How about from a cop? I have, it really doesn't matter if it's an AR-15 or his service pistol. Cops come guns drawn all the time.
