(clicky)American police are now shoving American citizens into head-to-toe body bags while they are still alive!

That's disgusting! To treat the most vulnerable among us like they aren't even people, but trash to be bagged.

For some reason, this doesn't surprise me. We live in a society where everything, including people are to be considered to be trash.

It's a relief though, to see that most of the comments in the comment section agree that it's really wrong to do this to the mentally ill.

They're really not! Since 2001 in particular they've developed the mentality of an occupying army, and guess who the "enemy" is?

Why is the video not playing?

One question I want to bring up in this thread is - has anyone who has posted in this thread been around a person who is high on drugs and crazy as a hatter? Or an alcoholic going through DT's who is having hallucinations, hitting everyone in sight, throwing things, spitting, and God knows what else? Anyone?

Or the crazy loon who actually is armed with a gun or some other weapon ready to kill the first person who comes in contact with them? Has anyone had to deal with those kind of people?

Yes.

Nobody needed to be stuffed into a bag.

And so have I - they needed 4 men to put them in 4 point restraints and a mask because of spitting. If they had to take them anywhere I don't know what would have been done. You got any better ideas?

I wanted to show a picture of something that we use at my facility (which is the first time I had ever seen it) - it's called a Vail Bed. I never liked it from the first time I set eyes on it because I think it is demeaning to the patient - like they are a caged up animal. However, it's much needed for those patients who are confused, maybe have sundowners, a little combative and continually keep getting up out of bed and falling. Hospitals don't have the staff to sit with the patient all of the time.

I bring this bed up because first Responders, health care workers and police all need ways to protect themselves from harm if they are expected to handle out of control combative people. That is why this bag was developed. It wasn't developed to be used on a passive individual.

They have to find a better way then zipping up a persons face. That said this is not tasering, macing or pepper spraying,or shooting them, and has a few similarities to the hug or squeeze machine Temple Grandin invented. But I quess we are in the era where public opinion favors erring on the side caution for suspects or the unstable people and injuries or death or death to others are acceptable collateral damage.

The American police are getting worse every day. The entire country is getting worse every day. Americans have always been extremely intolerant to anyone who is different, and they always will be. The end.

If all Americans are so intolerant, most of us posting here wouldn't be against bagging living, breathing human beings,

To be more precise, as someone born in this country, America is a place hostile to those who had the misfortune to be born poor or with mental handicaps. They like to pretend that they're tolerant and fair, but that's just the media blaring that nonsense 24/7 on television, radio, youtube and such. It's a lie. Like I enjoy pointing out to defenders of the police/military: if you think you have freedom, why can't you light up a joint in public or even in the privacy of your own home without getting arrested? Why is the selective service mandatory?

You think you have freedom in this country, but you really don't.

Where is the evidence that handcuffs are not enough?
