Jerusalem, Israel: The adjunctive use of high CBD oral extracts is associated with improvements in symptom management in children with autism-related behavioral issues, according to clinical data published online ahead of print in the journal Neurology.

Israeli researchers assessed the use of oral extracts containing a 20 to 1 ratio of CBD to THC in 60 adolescents with autism spectrum disorder.

Following treatment, behavioral outbreaks were "much improved or very much improved in 61 percent of patients." Nearly half of all patients reported improvement in anxiety and in their communication skills, while 29 percent reported a decrease in disruptive behaviors.

Authors concluded, "This preliminary study supports the feasibility of CBD-based medical cannabis as a promising treatment option for refractory behavioral problems in children with ASD."

Low THC, high CBD cannabis oil (not cbd hemp oil) is the only thing that works for my autism over-sensory issues. It can't be high THC like most people smoke though or it can cause anxiety. Medical has to have decently high CBD, at least 1:1. Not 25% thc and .01 cbd like some strong recreational strains. Also stick to indica's, sativa's can help in the morning and day but I'd always get used to an indica first to get that first bit of tolerance out of the way. Too much the first time can cause a panic attack, it has for me but never again since I only try high CBD.

This shouldn't be illegal, kids with autism really should be on cannabis oil, it stops a frustrating mental pain nothing else fixes. Why is no one fighting for the disabled or veterans who have been asking for this for years. It's a miracle for PTSD and nerve pain, nerurological disorders, it attacks cancer cells whether it cures it or not it's amazing to take.

So does the whole dried flower. I've been administering this therapy to myself off & on - mostly on - for 16 years.

I say this jokingly.. but also truthfully. Therapeutic doses of this medicine is highly beneficial. I'm talking as in comparable to a therapeutic dose of prescription amphetamines vs. street recreational doses, so 1/20th the amount, or what some might consider a "micro dose." Small amounts of cannabis have a definite therapeutic effect on myself and others. There's a reason cannabis is an extremely social drug that is shared amongst socializing users - it literally helps facilitate this behaviour.

Even better if they isolate the exact compounds and make more effective medicines out of it that can be consumed responsibly by patients of all ages. I'd try it, but I'm also very okay with just smoking small amounts of it the old fashioned way.
