Mexico Rebukes US Over "Zero Tolerance" Immigration Policy

Most of the people claiming Asylum or Refugee status are not fleeing from oppressive government entities within their own country, they are fleeing local violence.
Increase the number of unskilled work visas to reflect the reality that most farm and agricultural workers in the U.S. are undocumented migrant workers, who's families have been working in these professions for generations and who routinely travel between the U.S. and Mexico following the work.
Those two moves right there will greatly alleviate the problem of detention and the burden on the tax payer and border patrol.
Concerning Mexico making any criticisms of the U.S., Mexico's failure to flourish economically, supress the drug trade, protect it's people from crime and violence on an astounding level, and secure it's own borders is entirely Mexico's fault, or rather the fault of it's corrupt politicians and the inherited Spanish class system, and I've yet to see Mexico officially take ownership of this.
I don't think you are understanding or indeed apprehending the flow of debate very well here, as from what the whole wide world can see is Trump trying to banish migrants from their shores ENTIRELY and targeting all Muslim countries in general.
The only burden on the tax payer is the fact that he has also tried to scrap Obama Care, he can hardly call it Trump Care. We also have problems in our NHS, but the government isn't looking to scrap it, that is yet to be confirmed, how much tax needs paying. The ownership as it still stands I think, needs to be shared across the borders of Mexico on order to create a long lasting agreement and settlement improving relations between borders. Our borders co- exist with France, and customs and immigration are trying to continue to import and export goods from France as part of equal trading rituals.
America is a big enough country once dubbed,' The land of Equal Opportunity' and you're not going to continue to get unskilled workers, or even skilled ones between the borders until Congress stop arguing with Republicans about visas and numbers with a right to decent passage.
It was George W. Bush who first imposed sweeping travel bans on predominately muslim countries after 9/11.
Families were being separated by immigration officials before Trump. Trump has just stepped up the volume and is getting more press over it.
We do a lot of trade with Mexico, particularly in the agriculture sector.
We have workers from Mexico one way or another. The point of issuing more visas dor unskilled labor would be to legalize them such that they can crosd at official border crossings, reducing the load on border patrol and leaving primarily the "bad hombres" to cross illegally, increasing the chances they will be caught, instead of poor Lucia who is just trying to get to a strawberry field to pick strawberries.

Why don't they just stay in their own countries then?

Yeah that's not why they put the wall up. They did it to steal water, land and resources.

How did you come to this idea?

I think that you are mistaken. They put the wall where they did because they did their planning from maps, not from actually looking at the land.
Jerry Brown has done the same thing with his white elephant in the Central Valley. The high speed rail has bisected farms and disrupted communities.
Nothing insidious, just bureaucratic stupidity.

Because Mexico is a cartel-infested hellhole with few opportunities compared to the US.

Because of the water they stole and the tens of thousands of alleged potential Palestinian terrorists that ended up on the 'Israeli' side of the wall. Nothing to do with security. Like how Israel says the siege on Gaza is about security when they ban baby chicks and chocolate bars from going in.

Yeah I forgot to say they did it to steal more land too.

If you mean being detained by ICE, then no. But for many it's worth the risk.

Of course it is. They know the Democrat party desperately want them in for votes.

Do you honestly think that's the reason why they immigrate? While it's logical that that's who they'd vote for, the reason why they immigrate is to find better lives. I bet Mexico must suck pretty hard if people are willing to work for less than minimum wage doing grunt work and evade the authorities while they're at it. Even if they are doing it in some harebrained scheme to garner votes for the Democrats, then I'd say it's for the better.

I'm not very educated on the water issue of stealing water so it would be helpful if you showed me the sources that brought you to that conclusion.

Yes some of them. The irony is that male Clinton was the one that bought in the policies that destroyed the working class in Mexico.
