That would be TOO COOL!

With her as with Trump, I don't understand the interest in people who have said a bunch of words but haven't yet actually accomplished anything.

For now. Let's see what she gets done.

But right now is when you're saying it, which is my point. I don't understand how hyped people get over rhetoric, without seeing any actions, and certainly not seeing the results of those actions.

My opinion is that most people vote purely based on emotion rather than logic. That's obvious to me. Politicians regardless of party speak to people's emotions far more than logic for that reason. It's the shiny object.

I can understand why politicians manipulate people for votes based on emotion. What would yield better results with people who act on emotion (not me) rather than logic?

1) Vote for me rather than the other person because if you vote for the other person you'll have a good chance of dying.

Or

2) Vote for me and I'll work toward enacting laws that will result in you keeping an average of $XXXX of your money in reduced taxes.

Most people will fall for the dying spiel, or some other emotional scare tactic every time.

Being decent human beings.

How you do anything is how you do everything - they'd each do just fine in the role of POTUS. America, and the world, would be far stabler than they are under the current administration.

So no policies.

The US would just become even more of a joke. I'm sure the Rock is a nice guy. But Oprah is a psycopath that helped push the Iraq war that killed a million people so that scumbag can go to hell.

Too many Americans only care about a candidate's personality, I'm afraid, which is why they still look upon Obama as a wonderful president. Yes, he was intelligent, charismatic, and seemingly compassionate. But his record is utterly revolting!

Seeing as Trump won the Presidency with precisely zero in the way of policy, aside from the non-policies of building a wall and repealing the ACA, I think he proved that voters don't care about policy.

Um, where have you been? Scrapping NAFTA and TPP. Better relations with Russia. Stopping the support for Al Qaeda in Syria. Stopping illegal immigration.

Those are the good policies he was talking about.

Actually, I wasn't. I suppose I should have been more explanatory. Besides, she's too young to run for President, yet. But I would not be surprised if she does accomplish much in the career ahead of her.

Okay, I thought that right now you were saying that it would be cool for her to run in 2024, my mistake.

Being better then Trump is an extremly low bar to set. There is no reason to think those two celebs would do a fine job. After Trump I would hope people would be cautious about hiring another rank amateur as President. While I hope they would be cautious I think if Oprah wants it enough the job is hers. Her suggestions get millions upon millions to act. Add to that electing a black women is a method to own the alt-right. Like has been said people vote because of all sorts of non logical reasons.

He said he’d consider running in 2024, not 2020 as he has prior commitments to film projects.

America has elected celebrity presidents before and will again. At least these two are actually self made people vs trump’s lies.

But at least they’re genuinely accomplished.

I feel I can relate to them in some ways. Ie y’all think I’m an as*hole, but fact is I’ve accomplished some rather big things these past few years that I’m quite proud of - and like these people, I, too, Know that I am capable of more.

Do you really want to relate to someone who helped a million people get killed?
