Apparently, a lot of Trump supporters are turning to (or have already turned to) Parler as an alternative to Twitter, Facebook etc.

... but now, Google has also suspended the "Parler" app.

And apple has given Parler 24 hours to provide a moderation plan . Otherwise, it might be banned from Apple, too.

https://gadgets.ndtv.com/apps/news/parl ... ce-2349949

And now Parler is getting kicked off the internet by Amazon.

Since Amazon is hosting Parler (and not just distributing the app like Google and Apple), this would mean that the platform will go offline if it doesn't find another host.

I though he wanted it banned because it was from China.

President Trump@POTUS ( US government account ) is still an active account , @RealDonaldTrump account is suspended.

Well, the last activity from that account was a retweet from two days before Christmas. I physically had to look it up.

Trump’s time in that position of power is running very short. Soon he will likely be DIPOTUS (Double Impeached President of the United States). When he gets the second impeachment from Congress (most likely after Inauguration Day), he will be forever banned from public office in the US. If he was removed by the 25th Amendment immediately or resigns (both highly unlikely), it would not automatically ban him from coming back. What he did this week in office has even his staunchest supporters thinking twice about him. Many of his supporters in Congress changed their minds about contesting the election vote on late Wednesday because of his role in inciting the riot.

After he leaves the White House, he is facing some major criminal charges in at least two states (New York and Georgia). The Georgia charges involves pressuring election officials to corrupt an election and blackmailing elected officials by threat of force. The evidence has been released as a taped one hour phone call earlier this month. The taping of the phone call is not illegal to do in that state, as long as one party knew that they were being taped (the ones doing the taping were the Georgia election officials who just happen to be Republicans).

Those type of criminal convictions cannot be pardoned by the sitting President, as they are state charges, not federal ones. Even if he tries to do a blanket pardon of himself, he has to be found guilty by a court of law first and would have to admit guilt in the process. The state prosecutors have been patiently waiting for him to leave office to charge him with those offenses, just incase he tries to do just that.

I imagine Lin Wood the notorious QAnon lawyer will be there to support Trump in court.

Considering the amount of traffic he brought to the site, it will be interesting to see whether there is a sharehlder suit brought against the board (or members thereof) should this ban (plus associated purge\exodus of conservative members) have caused the share price to drop, given the board's responsibility is to the shareholders and as such their job is to keep the share price up - While it is a private business, and they can make their own rules about what is permitted, being publicly traded comes with the requirement that the decisions be in the interest of shareholders, so it will be interesting to hear what financial benefit this brought to them.

With the share price currently being down around 10% since Friday's close, there may be some explaining required...

I hope keeping share prices up is NOT considered the most important ethical responsibility of a company.

I agree with Brictoria, we should post links for snuff films, people being doused with gasoline and set on fire while still breathing, some footage of people with sucking chest wounds, people being disected while still screaming for help and other similar videos! We must increase traffic to the website to please the share holders at all costs!

Anyone who thinks that banning Trump from Twitter is a violation of Free Speech does not understand Free Speech.

They did it to limit their legal liability exposure because Democrats now control every board and part of government that regulates them and they don’t want to get fined, sued, or legislated into a position that costs them more money than trump brought in. That’s the math.

I think this is what Bric is referring to
https://au.finance.yahoo.com/news/twitt ... 16623.html

Shareholders complaining about Trump's ban would be as well received as BMW shareholder complaining about the closure of Nazi slave labor camps had on their share price.

Perhaps somebody could explain to Brictoria that ethical conduct sometimes takes precedence over greed.

Tell that to the Covid deniers.
