they do that here to. you have to work for peanuts if you are unemployed. and shady bosses will hire you for long hours, for sh***y pay. its all greed. or they have this dumb idea, called "work for the dole" and it is offensive. you work long hours, alongside junkies and control freaks, for an extra $20 a fortnite. its slave labour. then the government has the audacity to complain about "work ethic"

Here in Australia work for the dole also means sending unemployed accountants or IT workers to clean old posters from building walls, collect rubbish or plant trees or cover up potholes.

it would not be as bad, if they got paid an actual wage. some insentive, to encourage confidence and growth, and a way to financially secure their future.
