For reasons which are taken from medieval and Hitlerian playbooks.

What happened to BBC?

The URL is a giveaway - it’s from the BBC’s West African Pidgin service, aimed primarily at Nigerians.

Here is the English version:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-africa-60555650

While it’s obviously unpleasant, it’s not nearly as unpleasant as the idea that it is comparable to Russia’s actions and that it would warrant sanctions at this sensitive time.

That’s Nigerian Pidgin English.

The discrimination happened to Nigerian university students in Ukraine.

It shouldn’t have happened. But as Walrus stated, Putin’s actions against Ukraine overshadow this.

The discrimination was perpetrated by Ukrainian idiots—not the nation of Ukraine.

Thanks, I had no idea such language even exists.
These incidents are nasty and shouldn't have taken place. I hope Polish Border Guard improves their behavior after this medial slap in the wrist. As for Ukrainians... I believe only those who have been running from falling bombs themselves have a right to judge them. We all know that extreme situations bring out all the best and all the worst in people.

Nigerian Pidgin English, alas, was originally created as a way for Europeans to communicate either with people who were captured to be slaves, or the people who "turned in" those who were captured to be slaves.

In simple terms, it's a mixture of African languages like Yoruba---with informal English.

I actually have a little bit of a "linguistic" background when it comes to creoles and pidgins.

It does seem like the Russians have hit civilians. But ff Israeli and US airstrikes take out civilians in war zones how shocking is it that Russian missiles have done the same?

Both the Russian and Ukrainian media/locals are likely exaggerating hits/losses for publicity.

Sure over 50 000 people a day fleeing their homes often with just one suitcase and standing in several hour queues to cross our border are just making things up...

I'll explain the difference - from European point of view - between this conflict and other ones:
When there is a massive wildfire on a different continent, you may feel sad and concerned. You hope it ends soon and things will be okay for the people there. Maybe you even donate something to the fire brigades and/or the victims and if you're an activist kind of person, you may go there and help.
When there is a massive wildfire next to your home, your life changes.

Mate.
Israelis warn civilians to get out of an airstrike site before it happens.

Please stop being so cyclopean.
It only discredits you. 8)

I have been watching a few podcasts in Russia and we have to remember that there are 2 million Ukrainians who live in Russia and many millions of Russians have Ukrainian ancestry.

Russians are not a homogenous entity, they are made up of hundreds of minorities and there is a big disparity between urban/rural, western, central, southern and far eastern provinces.

I'm not excusing the airstrikes. Bottom line is Putin is being opportunistic and is in the wrong.

I think I know what Ukraine is all about, but not sure if I am at liberty to say on this forum.

Salo and horilka

I heard the word before but had to look up the exact meaning.

Honestly, it's a surprise Putin didn't know how to make a good offer.

Am not sure what those words mean, but think about the idea that somewhere in America there is someone who grew up with autism as a result of having cancer as a kid, wanted to cure cancer and such to go on to do some green beret type of stuff, and the Russian code of medical ethics swear to never let things go Nuclear. The green berets are known for among other things denuclearization and we are on the verge of nuclear war with Russia. Do you think this is a coincidence when the us has been asking for answers since the early 80s?

^ You can click the links and find out.

As far as what you said, I think you're in the right place. (I didn't understand anything at all.)

I very much doubt that.
