Under Massachusetts law, the maximum penalty for first-degree murder is life in prison without parole.

Glad to hear AS wasn't accepted as an excuse for killing somebody. He didn't even know the kid he killed, that kid had never bullied him or anything. It was also reported earlier that he was depressed, but I couldn't find that article.
Hmnn, do you think it would have been a good excuse if he did know the victim? or if the victim bullied him?
