Interesting experiment.

It's going to be tough to get away from anything that isn't even remotely connected to Disney. Like many super-corporations they own a plethora of other companies they've bought up over the years, many of which, people may not even know are owned by Disney now.

I've been told that in 10 years or so, the vast majority of business in the US are going to owned by a just a few super-corporations. A lot of people are thinking that this is going to stifle consumer choice and create monopolies... and of course, all of these super-corporations will fall under the "Too Big to Fail" idea.

What does Disney own?

Hollywood Pictures
Touchstone
Beuna Vista

I don't know what else they own.

How hard can it be to avoid movies made by them or products?

I know Pirates of the Caribbean is theirs, and so is Kingdom Hearts. If you really wanted to go totally hardcore, you'd actually also have to boycott Job's Daughters, and given their ties... nnngh. You can't boycott everything that's been touched by Disney, can you?

I suppose that's not good, is it?

My Mom has a set of friends who adopted a baby from Guatemala many years ago, and she has never been allowed to have anything to o with Disney. even Winnie the Pooh.

Interesting. Disney makes a lot of crap these days *cough* Justin Bieber *cough* so that's easy to "boycott", but purging your life of everything they own must be a pretty hard thing to do.

He's on Disney's record label, so he is.

Justin Bieber is with Island Def jam, which is a group of the Universal Music Group, neither of which are Disney. He was discovered by Usher.

*uses his Google*

Heh, you're right. My bad. Alright then, I'll substitute Bieber with the Jonas Brothers. They're all just as bad as each other.

I think Justin beieber is worse, but I tend to lump Sparkly Vampires, Miley Cyrus, the Jonas Brother, and Justin Beiber together... I will never contract "Beiber Fever." *Shudders*

Why though? Disney makes a lot of s**t, but Disney also makes some stuff that is good, and by boycotting it all you throw the baby out with the bathwater.
