The kid did nothing wrong. The old guy came right into his personal space banging his drum the kid stood there and did nothing and is being demonized internationally.
When I first saw the video I thought it was the other way around, but nope. What was he supposed to do?
The kid is being demonised just because he has a smug looking face. Its bad enough twitter doing it but even supposed right wing media like the Daily Mail is doing it.
I'm not good with facial expressions. It looked to me like he was just smiling. But again, what is a person supposed to do when someone is standing toe to toe with them singing and drumming. What's supposed to be the correct facial expression? If someone did that to me it would probably trigger a sensory meltdown.
I just hope this kid doesn't have any mental health issues because this could push him over the edge.
There was an online hate mob targeted at an Autistic girl for calling the police on a woman standing outside her door, it made her suicidal. Its disgusting what the media can get away with doing. If someone says something non PC on twitter they can get deleted but drive someone to suicide and that's okay.
When you go to an Indigenous Peoples' March and place yourself toe to toe next to a singing, drumming, Elder, it is You who is in His personal space & challenging him, not the other way around.
That kid is wearing a racist pride hat while staring down an Indigenous Elder with a smug look of superiority on his face. He deserves every bit of disdain he gets.
He does have a mental health problem. It's called racism.
