In 6th grade my "famous african american" project was about him. I'm stunned.

Yep. Just heard about it.

Never knew you are a basketball fan.

It’s tragic. Too young to die. Had his whole life ahead of him.

I'm not a basketball fan at all.
As a child, my nephew was crazy about Kobe Bryant and also the movie Space Jam with Michael Jordan.

This brings back a lot of memories for me.

Yeah. Im not a huge sports fan but was shocked to hear it too.

Many luminaries have met their maker via helicopter crashes.

That's how Stevie Ray Vaughn died.

I was never a lakers fan but I will admit that, Kobe Bryant was definitely the real deal on the court. I am In a state of confusion at the moment. This is the scary thing in regard to death. One minute you are fine, the next you are dead. Condolences to the family.

One of those celebs that seemed like they weren't ever going to die, only to remind us that we all have to go sometime. RIP.

I know this was started for Kobe...
But he had a daughter onboard as well as, I believe, 7 other people who all perished.
RIP to all of them.

 I'm just hearing about the other passengers now, too.

Rest in peace to all.

Now I for sure know how people felt when John Lennon died.

My condolences to Kobe's family and to the African-American community. A tragic and sad loss.

The purpose of the flight was to take his daughter to a basketball game in which she was to play.
His wife Vanessa married him when she was only 19 years old; she must be feeling so very lost without him...
And she has three children to raise alone!
R.I.P, Kobe, and God bless, Vanessa.

So upsetting, I couldn't believe it. He was a true icon and he seemed like an all around nice guy. RIP Kobe, hope you're shooting hoops in the sky.
