You know that a considerable portion of "White America" didn't vote for Trump, right?

When right-wingers talk about us being "crazy" mad about Trump, what they're doing is projecting. It's a fact that it was them during 8 years of Obama who went nuts. All this stuff about the legitimate President of the United States and you shouldn't be rude to the President, and all that, that was not at all practiced by the right during the Obama years.

Yes how quickly the "reichwingers" forget they went frothing mad in the latter years of the Obama years attacking the office of the president. The tea party nutters were allowed to represent the republicans and it wasn't just the tootheless uneducated hordes with their guns and blue overalls and pickup trucks.

Lets not forget that in 2016 62% of white college educated females were favourable toward Trump over having the first women president in Hillary Clinton; despite his obvious misogynistic and backward views of women. They were willing to to take a step backwards in terms of the women's movement and embrace a male fossil who was the antitheses of their aspirations.

If you were a psychiatrist I would diagnose white america with some type of mental illness...

Addicted to the "political cocaine" Trump pushes to his followers maybe? This writer suggests so:

https://www.alternet.org/2019/09/trumps ... m=referral

I actually do suspect that a great number of his followers get a dopamine boost in their brains every time Trump slags
off anyone outside of the Trump tribe, or some other outrageous behaviour of his, and that some will have developed an addiction they are desperate to keep feeding. If so, the danger of their withdrawal symptoms in 2020 does not bode well for their perceived enemies, which seems to be almost anyone they see as different in belief, race or outlook from themselves. The USA is in very troubled waters, and Trump wanted it that way, an utterly selfish personality.

And what would a psychiatrist make of that and countless other similar statements?

I have said before that Trump's election is a symptom and not the cause. There was an open letter from 30+ psychiatrists who reached consensus that in their professional assessment Trump was not mentally fit to hold the office of POTUS.

However, it appears the large swathe of "rationale" white voters appear to have switched off from real issues such as health, education, employment, climate change, social cohesion and religion and picked a leader who (put aside his mental issues) has demonstrated an ability to lie and cheat in business and become bankrupt on three occasions. He offered no viable policy alternatives and was taking advice from a known nutjob fascist in Steve Bannon.

For people living outside of the USA it's as if millions of white Americans have decided to punish themselves for the Obama years. It's that cohort of college educated white folk who voted for Trump and now hide if anyone asks why they did it?

Here's one possible answer offered by psychologists
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shy_Tory_factor

Conservatives don't want to tell others that they are bigoted, prejudiced against the poor, vulnerable and marginalised so hide their views until election time.

I have no idea who says that. I am saying that I want to see an impeachment finally take place asap because I have gotten tired of hearing about it for years. I'm sure others feel the same way. The sooner they get it over with the better.

I agree. I want this - and Trump's Presidency - to be over with.

It will be either that or, "that which does not kill us makes us stronger."

Okay, Nietzsche.

That should probably tell you how horrible Hillary is, rather than women voting against their best interests. She hasn't really been a great advocate for women's rights. Were women supposed to vote for her simply because she has a vagina?

I voted for a woman in 2016. But it sure as hell wasn't Hillary. People were tired of being screwed over by the same corporate politicians for decades. You can't blame them for voting for someone who appeared to be apart from the usual lying, phony candidates, however misguided they might have been. You don't live in this country, so I don't expect you to understand. You haven't had to live with the consequences of our corrupt system.

Except that Trump was known to be a worse liar and more phony/unprofessional than the then crop of 2016 republican leader candidates. I actually don't buy that excuse.

Trump only separated himself from other republican candidates on three issues - building a wall to stop Mexicans as a solution for jobs, stopping muslim migration to tackle terrorism and using foul/gutter language to attack his opposition.

I think white Americans do not want to take responsiblity for voting a nutjob. Nor do they want to admit that bigotry and prejudice was the deciding factor for erstwhile rationale voters in Trump getting elected.

You’re overdoing it.

I’m a white American. Like hell I’m responsible for Trump’s election.

You’re barking off the wrong tree here.

It’s the people who didn’t want a Clinton dynasty who voted for Trump. People who didn’t bother to think. People who have regressed values.

He lost the popular vote.

May I please have a dollar for every time you write "white"? I'll be able to afford a semester at Harvard within a month.

I and a lot of others I know voted for him and will admit to it without shame and will do it again. If that makes us knuckle dragging, racist, fascist, rednecks in the eyes of leftists that only makes the idea all the more attractive.

So to save coming back over and over too soon I'll answer a few questions that I might be asked.

Q: Raptor, what will you do if a real progressive democrat gets elected?
A: I'll soldier on is what I'll do. I will definitely bi+ch but I won't cry or need meds. I won't need a safe room with coloring books and teddy bears. I won't *immolate myself, either.

Q: But what if they ban "assault weapons"?
A: What's mine is mine and I'm keeping them regardless.

Q: So you're saying you'll go against the rule of law just so you can keep your precious guns and pretend to be a tough guy?
A:Yep

Q: What about the poor?
A: They'll still be poor but with a few more meager table scraps tossed down to them to keep them voting democrat. Nothing new there.

Q: Are you a troll?
A: If being non-progressive and having a difference of opinion makes me a troll then I guess that's what I am. It definitely beats being a soy boy.

*To my knowledge, no liberal has self-immolated in the wake of the 2016 Trump victory, but maybe we'll see that in 2021 as he starts his second term or some other republican who might be meaner starts his first term. :P

75% of the military are those “toothless uneducated hordes” so hows that going work out for you? And most the officers are conservative as well.

Not surprising that urban liberals don’t join the military or police.

But are those military personnel going to betray their oaths to constitution and country just for an emotionally disturbed, corrupt imbecile in the White House? I don't think they would, and thus I'm not talking about them.
Just what did Obama do that's supposed to be illegal?

When things break that much; each side would have their own version of oath; your army would become two opponent armies.
