Knowing the traditional Kremlin attitude towards truth, I'm not surprised such voices have been raised - but nope, Ukrainians have no interest in shelling their own civilians just to claim Russians are evil. This is pretty ridiculous. Russians have been evil enough without it.

Of course, I support investigations - once we're safe. But I very much doubt anything surprising would come out.

Putin spewed forth lie after lie even before the invasion.

How about all those apartment buildings in Kyiv and Kharkiv? What were the Russians aiming for?

His targeting of civilians will only increase.

You do understand that you're saying that Russian soldiers are intentionally shooting at civilians, right? You do understand that those are real people wearing those uniforms and manning those weapons? It's ultimately their doing operating those weapons. You're saying they aim their weapons at civilians? You're saying they're evil people? I don't think you fully thought through what you're saying.

Aside from that, let me ask you this, how do you picture a war inside of a city?

You're saying that whenever US is bossing around yet another 3rd world country there is no collateral damage? That we don't leave homes in rubble?

I'm saying those who gave them orders to do it are evil people.
And, just like in Stalin times, there is a pyramide of terror, with one monster on its top.

I absolutely don't agree when the US destroys infrastructure in other countries. I would speak out against that just as vociferously as I would speak out against what the Russians are doing.

Russia might not be targeting specific civilians (though, of course, they are targeting the Ukrainian president and his associates). But they are certainly targeting civilian infrastructure. They are targeting apartment buildings. They are causing essential products to not be able to make it to stores and shops, so people could buy them.

If they were only targeting military targets, then I wouldn't be making my statements.

There is NO justification for what Russia is doing. All because they want a "Great Russia.' All because they believe Ukrainians are Russians. Bullcrap!

It's garbage, too, when the US screws around with other countries, and destroys their infrastructure.

pootin can't back down.
His ego won't let him.
If he has to, he will kill as many civilians as it takes to win.

All because Ukraine in EU is a "personal" offence to "Great Russia". And "Great Russia" does not take offence lightly.

These poor conscripts certainly did not sign up for killing and dying for their dicatator's hurt ego.

Desperation. Perhaps they feel they have nothing to lose and are shelling the opponent indiscriminately inside of the city. Again, not confirmed.

Again.....I have nothing against the Russian people or the Russian ethnicity. My issue is with the actions of a certain Russian person who runs things there.

My mother's side is Belarusian Jewish. They're from Minsk. I'll have to find out the status of Minsk in 1910. It was in the Russian Empire in 1910.

I don't sense that the ordinary Russian has a bone to pick with the ordinary Ukrainian.

Agreed.
A number of examples where the Russian soldiers were surprised they were attacking Ukraine.

That's largely correct. Those fringe nationalists (okay, they're Nazis, really) are very over-represented in the armed forces. Ukraine is far too weak without them, that's why they put up with them. They're highly motivated fighters, though they're not driven by an ideology of defenders.

It's a sign of a failed state when they have to rely on hate groups prop it up.

Yep....that would be a sign of a failed state if their military is dominated by neo-Nazi types.

But that has nothing to do with the state of the rank-and-file Ukrainian who is displaced from his/her home. And who can't get water or food on their own. Most of them aren't neo-Nazis.

All because Putin is acting like a baby throwing toys from the playpen.

A failed state is one that sends their own sons to die in an attempt to terrorize another nation.
