Why not look at the person then, she is likely turned to Praeger U because other media companies won't give her 1 second of airtime.

There are plenty of other conservative platforms that would be more than happy to conduct such an interview.

PragerU is a terrible source to cite given its track record. One would need to fact-check every minute detail.

After Gaza was given back to the Palestinians they had the opportunity to become the Singapore of the middle east connecting Egypt and Africa in the south and the countries in Mediterranean and levant. Instead infrastructure meant for development and education has been diverted to militarisation.

How exactly were they going to accomplish that when Israel just mows the grass any time they build any infrastructure?

You're deeply naive on this topic and your opinions reflect it.

Literacy rates in Gaza Strip and West Bank in 2020:

Quote:
definition: age 15 and over can read and write

total population: 97.5%

male: 98.8%

female: 96.2%

note: estimates are for Gaza Strip and the West Bank

https://www.cia.gov/the-world-factbook/field/literacy/

Quote:
Palestinian women have made great strides in literacy over the past two decades. The women’s literacy rate was 78.5 percent in 1995, but that rate has soared to a current level of 94.1 percent. Additionally, at the university level, girls’ enrollment matches that of boys, and girls are robustly represented in STEM fields as well.

However, girls’ education still has areas for improvement. A minority of Palestinian schools are coeducational, and overall, female students in Palestine tend to receive a lower quality of education than their male counterparts. Many male students go to private schools because their families expect them to become the primary breadwinners when they reach adulthood, often by working abroad. Female students, who are typically free from this expectation, do not receive the same educational opportunities. Families with limited resources tend to put most of their resources into their boys’ educations.

Especially in Gaza, where the unemployment rate is over 50 percent, the result is an astronomical unemployment rate among women — double that of men. The UN reports that most women who work in the public sector have minimal options, usually working in the fields of health or education. Outside the public sector, women have difficulty finding jobs that pay a living wage. Childcare, for example, might bring in only $100 a month. Women also take on unskilled work, such as domestic labor, cleaning and jobs on family agricultural operations, often for little to no pay.

From 2022:

https://data.unicef.org/wp-content/uplo ... 2FINAL.pdf

Quote:
The number of students enrolled at higher education institutions in 2020/2021 reached 214,765 (82,179 males and 132,586 females), with 136,920 in the West Bank (48,830 males and 88,090 females) and 77,845 in the Gaza Strip (33,349 males and 44,496 females). The number of graduates from higher education institutions in the academic year 2019/2020 was 41,137 (15,228 males and 25,909 females), with 28,668 graduates in the West Bank (9,791 males and 18,877 females) and 12,469 graduates in the Gaza Strip (5,437 males and 7,032 females).

Thanks Twilight, yes 95% of children are enrolled in early education but....

The organisations who work on the ground in Gaza like UNICEF don't paint such a positive picture of education and safety for children,

About 89 per cent of children are subjected to psychological aggression and 74 per cent to physical punishment in the family.

The future is an uncertain one for adolescents, as youth unemployment rates currently reach 40 per cent in the West Bank and 62 per cent in Gaza.
https://www.unicef.org/sop/what-we-do/e ... dolescents

Furthermore girls aren't getting work - 66% do not have jobs
https://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,734 ... 54,00.html

This data suggests what the women in the interview reported with Prager U isn't wrong

From what I briefly saw, she seemed to imply that she is literate/educated solely because she lived in Israel when that doesn’t appear to be the case based on the numbers. Education has not been touched on in the thread that I can remember, so I thought I’d provide some data.

Be that as it may, most people, including myself, need info from a better source than PragerU because, at its heart, it is a propaganda machine that has spewed a lot of nonsense about Israel, Palestine, Islam, and the Middle East over the years. There’s so much good information out there that one doesn’t need to resort to such a source.

While off-topic, that’s probably similar to my (conservative) neck of the woods. I received physical punishment throughout my childhood. It’s commonplace here although that certainly doesn’t make it okay.

Quote:
In the United States, studies show that approximately 65 percent of adults approve of physical punishment, and about 50 percent of families use physical punishment to discipline children.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog ... olence?amp

In Australia:
Quote:
It is estimated that worldwide around six in 10 children aged 2–14 years experience physical punishment by a caregiver. In Australia, we have an incomplete picture of the use and effects of physical punishment. Surveys indicate 50–80% of Australian parents use physical punishment in disciplining their children. Surveys of the attitudes of Australian parents note:

The majority (80%) experienced physical punishment when they were a child.
Around half (51%) had used it on their own children.
Around half (51%) believe it is never acceptable to use physical discipline with a child.

https://aifs.gov.au/resources/short-art ... t-children

With that being said, I’m sure that the numbers are somewhat higher in Gaza for a few reasons, especially those related to extreme levels of stress due to poverty, unemployment, and ongoing oppression and conflict.

I wouldn't normally use Prager U as a source but its perplexing because I knew from years ago that the 20% of Israel's population who are Palestinians enjoy a better standard of living than all their Arab neighbours. There is no reason for Gazans to resort to terrorism.

The media doesn't ask Palestinians living in Israel who benefit from cooperating with Israel.

So, based on Bibi's own words, anyone who insists Israel isn't planning on doing everything they can to prevent a Palestinian state from forming because they intend on annexing that territory and displacing it's inhabitants.

People who try to pretend otherwise can be dismissed as dishonest actors incapable of engaging in good faith.

Netanyahu and his right leaning government don't want a Palestinian state. Left leaning political parties may be more open.

I think we can all agree he needs to be removed. But like Putin it's up to his people to remove him.

Don't worry. He probably won't be able to remain in power once the war is over.

Just like we waited for the Italians to deal with Mussolini and the Serbs to deal with Milošević?

Sure wish our USa , Murica , politicos would take some action , at least by disassociation with Israel financially
In order to ,at least cause Israel to think twice about their anti humanitarian actions ...And am no fan of hamas

It would be nice to drop the double-standard.

Why do you want to compare Likud to the fascist authoritarians like them? Likud have been voted out before, Israel have had leaders who have tried to reconcile like Yitzhak Rabin.

Because Likud is an authoritarian, ethno-nationalist party that seeks the destruction of Palestine and has repeatedly engaged in ethnic cleansing actions against the Palestinian people in both Gaza and the West Bank, but the west is too cowardly to say enough is enough.

Beyond that, Likud isn't the only party that's a problem. The current Minister of National Security is Itamar Ben-Gvir, who's a member of an even more explicit far-right party who has also been convicted of supporting a terrorist organization Kach.

Both Kach and Otzma Yehudit are Kahanist parties. Kahanism and parties rooted in it are fairly described as theocratic and fascist in terms of ideology and intentions. They're quite open about their goal to expand the territory of Israel as well as their plans to displace non-Jews from the territory they seize.

Likud's coalition partners include several openly theocratic parties like Religious Zionist Party, Otzma Yehudit and Noam. Most of them are openly embrace Jewish supremacism as well. Likud and the coalition propping them up are people who deserve to be condemned based on what they stand for.

So yeah, I compare bloodthirsty fascists to bloodthirsty fascists.
