The kid may have had sensory issues with food, in the same way that many autistic kids hate the feeling of poop traveling through them and will hold it in instead, this kid may not have liked the feeling of food going down his esophagus, or the feeling of being "full". The running out of the house is normal, and the only solution seems to be to lock them in. I think that mom just wanted a crutch to use so that she wouldn't have to address the REAL issues. Hey, if the kid's stoned, he won't be such a problem! Well, ok, but the cure is worse than the problem. And you can find virtually ANY "treatment" for autism online. The scope of autism quackery is truly breathtaking.

one should walk in somebody's shoes before rendering judgement on somebody else, in this regard. when i was a young 'un, i had issues with stuff going in my mouth, i had great difficulty swallowing, so i was a very skinny kid. unfortunately for me, pot just made me ill. maybe if it were in a ice-cold chocojuana drink i could handle it.

The second that.

It always depends on the individual at the end of the day. There is no "cure for all" for everything.

I have concerns about it, but a forty-eight pound ten-year-old merits drastic measures.

I see nothing wrong with this, obviously I don't think its a good idea to just start feeding all kids pot brownies, but hey i think if cannibis helps a child with certain mental issues its better and safer then some of the other prescription drugs out there. I did not read the exact article posted in this thread but I have read one like that on another website where the mom was concerned about her autistic child because he was severly underweight and unhealthy. He was on a lot of different prescpiption drugs and when the mom took him in for a check up she was told her son had a very low chance of surviving much longer so in desperation she tried the medical marijuana and found that it helped with many of the symptoms and allowed her to decrease the amount of more dangerous medications. I think cannabis does have some potential here.

Weed is such a controversial thing that scientists have not been able to do conclusive studies on it's effects! Either that or the studies are covered up. there are many conspiracy theories out there about why the government wants to cover it up and bla bla bla.

Anyways. I myself do not believe giving weed to a child is such a good idea. It is my opinion that we do not know enough about weed. It may harm a developing child more than a teenager the same way alcohol or other drugs can harm children more than teenagers.

But I just don't know. That is my opinion.

Edit: I love the alliteration in the original post. crumbly confection....
