I somehow don't quite miss snow the way that I used to... :)

Ive always hated the fluffy white stuff once I hit highschool. I just wanted to get classes done and over with, not have the be pushed back. Nowadays though, I hate it because my mother wont even let me practice driving during/after it. So yeah...

Ugh! More snow for us Washingtonians. I know the American people hate us, but does God hate us, too?Web Page Name

I remember a winter like this, in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I believe it was the winter of '94, 95. Blizzard after blizzard after blizzard. Snow piled up everywhere. Does anyone else remember this?

it was in 94. I was in germany at the time with my mother and father. My grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins though felt its affects. Grandparents made a video of it, accumulations were jus6t as bad as they were in buffallo newyork a few years back. something like 7-9 feet of accumulation. Im currently like 24 miles away from allentown though so yeah.

From the pictures it looms like what we're supposed to get overnight, of course michigan is more prepared, with the one snowplow the entire state shares.

This blows and I dislike the cold. I just looked out my window and see it coming down, ready to enthrall us with another treacherous morning drive in DC traffic! I need to go back to San Diego...

I moved to DC from Buffalo, NY, the snowiest city in the US (next to our neighbors Rochester and Syracuse). This was a big snowstorm, but the response in DC was terrible. They did a half-@$$ed job plowing the streets, and no one cleared the sidewalks yet. Nothing is open. The federal government is closed Monday, and I suspect most everything else will close with it. It's ludicrous.

What did you expect. In Washington DC, Congress is the town council.

All I can say is these people are sea-level sissies. I mean seriously, here in Laramie, where it is very possible to get snowfall in JULY, we trudge through feet-deep snow and -10 degrees F during the evening and still everything stays open; schools, the University, banks, post office, city hall... nothing ever closes here.

Yeesh... if the federal government were more like us Wyoming folks, then I think that America wouldn't have half the problems it does now.

I think its funny/ironic that the snowstorm shut down the federal government and, wait...did anybody notice? The lights still come on, I'm still getting mail, and...nothing's changed. Federal government? What federal government?

It's snowing up here in North Texas area. Two inches have already fallen and it's still snowing. The local public schools are open. I was out earlier today snow skating on an old skateboard deck I have. I saw a couple kids out skipping school and having fun in the snow.
