This bruhaha reminds me of what happened back in one the my high school classes back in 1953. The English teacher used the word "niggardly" (in context, by the way) and one of the colored girls in class had a melt down hissy fit.

Thin skin is sensitive skin regardless of its color.

The tinny voice recordings on these talking cards are atrocious. You would think that Hallmark would employ better sound engineers or whomever they use to maufacture/design accoustics. Perhaps the actors who do the voices are speaking in a language that is not the first they learned and still understand.

I find it disappointing that this gangsta language has taken such a foothold in Western culture. It has permeated our conscious awareness and stained our interpretation of words and terminology. It is certainly nothing to be celebrated. Granted, the card needs to be sent back to the sounding and drawing board but it would be a better choice for groups such as the NAACP to focus on criticism with regard to the sexist lingo some of these music groups are screaming out from radio, TV, and the web, including You Tube videos, which is far worse, being both racist and sexist.

And now we can add Hallmark to maufactures we should stay away from.

So who can we trust? No matter what you do or say this day and age someone will be mad at you for it.
