What's the big deal with gay marriage anyway, I don't see the issue. Why can't all countries just agree to let anyone marry anyone they want as long as they're both happy with it and it's not forced. Simple. conservative types will just have to put up with it and stop moaning, it doesn't affect them directly because they're obviously not the ones having gay weddings.

lol

Who's doing that?

If the Judges were voted out by the electorate, then that means the majority was outraged.

Prejudice and ignorance apparently know no bounds. And in Iowa of all places, such a shock.

Playing the race, gender, etc. card no longer works. People know it is just a tool used by the left to demonize someone.

Ah, perhaps you are correct. But what does that say about the patriotic, fear and loathing, irrational prejudice cards? Do those still work for the "right".

But you cannot argue that there is not plenty of prejudice and ignorance to go around for people of all political stripes. Those two do not make a very good start to solving the public policy problems that our nation faces ... or do you think they do?

The problem is then certain "Hate" Crimes Laws, could and would be abused to target Priests because scripture teaches that homosexuality is a sin. Said priests would be arrested in violation of the first amendment.

We see these kind of shannigans in Europe all the time on the news, it is a pretty glaring warning of what could happen in the United States.

Also the Judges were in violation of their oaths because they were legislating from the bench.

Well, if the shoe fits...

Seriously though, it's a civil issue - not a religious one. I would equally support a priest's right to discriminate in his church as I support gay marriage. I doubt that I'm alone in this one. It should also be noted that scripture is open to different interpretations, including complete dismissal. This is the beauty of the separation of church and state.

And yes, marriage is a civil term in modern society, complete with legal definitions, benefits, and ramifications.

That's all well and good in theory, but past history has shown that not to be the case. Some incidents in Europe of late have proven that (which had nothing to do with homosexuals mind you).
