True,but I keep lots of canned stuff and potatoes,onions,apples,etc.It would be a good idea to have things like this around ,they don't spoil,plus bottles of water.Our county was completely sold out of gas,kerosene,candles,batteries.The old timers know to stock up.Once I was at someone's house and they had about 10 of the jumbo packs of toilet paper stored up,they said in the 60's there was a snow storm,and then another,etc they didn't get out for a month.
I'm starting to horde T.P. now.Plus animal feed,batteries,and I have a huge turnip green patch,and buckets of black walnuts.I like to stock up on those religious candles,the ones with the Virgin of Guadalupe on them,they burn forever,they are cheap and I think they are pretty.
And I now have a pair of crampons,just in case.And a NOAH weather radio that is solar powered or you can turn a crank to power it.

Here in Spokane and surrounding area, we lived through an ice storm about maybe fifteen yeas ago, and it was a scary bitch-and a-half. Luckily, our repair crews worked all night, and so many of us got our power back the very next day. Yep, this sounds about right for New York and New Jersey. No offense to those of you who live in those areas...I'm just pointing out how horrible the unions up there are.

The Mob makes their money in the Labor Union Racket, non union, no skim, kickbacks, for the Family Businesses of New York and New Jersey.

All of the people who provide and enforce protection would be out of work.

I personally think being a member of a Union should be a matter of individual choice, meaning that an individual can be a member if they choose to and if they don't, they don't have to sacrifice a part of their paycheck and will not receive any type of benefit mambership may confer upon them.

Of course the company created the jobs. But it was the unions that negotiate with the company the sharing of the wealth with those who actually provide the labor that made the company rich.

That's because you live on the West Coast. You don't live in the area.

I don't trust Fox News at all, but this could seriously happen in the state and area. In Philadelphia across the river, union picketing is a way of life. If you don't give a union your job, they're showing up at your door with signs and handing out material to try to discredit you and ruin your business. I'm not mistaken, we're not talking about the company deliberately making people slaves since they're non-union. The union only wants their people to get the job, there's no purpose to help out the non-union workers at all.

I'm quite sorry liberals have their blinders on whenever an ultra-conservative posts something like this and believes this story to be automatically false since the only link is a Fox News biased piece.

Fortunately, this story is indeed false. The documents seemed to imply you needed to be in a union, and everyone was welcome to help out. See here. But I need to remind you the United States is about 2,500 miles wide with some 330 million people in it; what goes on in your area doesn't mean it's the same in another, and there are gray areas in terms of political stuff.

Trust me, Fox has defamed unions here on the west coast, too.
I'll be willing to concede not every union is going to display good behavior, just the same as businesses.

I never heard anything bad about my Dad's old AFL-CIO. And to say that only unions have mob ties is incorrect. Plenty of businesses do, as well.
