im japan a decade or so ago, there was an incident with a "pokemon" cartoon broadcast [with a flashing character moving about the screen] which caused mass epileptic seizures in many hundreds of child viewers.

I don't think it's a matter of it being "offensive" to them. It's because they want to go by your house without having a seizure.

Actually no one in my neighborhood is epileptic (at least I think they aren't). They were just chipping in to the annual HOLIDAY CENSORSHIP!! ! What has our world come to where the smallest thing about Christmas can offend anyone? Now I hear people are sick of celebrating the holiday in general. They might even stop buying stuff for the holiday even while knowing the economy is at stake.

I LOVE Christmas lights at night and I HATE all the political correctness that is ruining everything that's still right with this holiday. Like calling Christmas trees holiday trees. Holiday trees WTH?!? What other holiday puts up a tree in December and decorates it? Ooo, a tree with LIGHTS and DECORATIONS, how very offensive! If someone displayed a big Kwanzaa flag or whatever in their window I wouldn't be flipping out at the sight of it. It offends ME when other people utter "holiday" instead of the 'C' word that is just SO VERY HORRIBLE! OMG HOLIDAY CAROLS HOLIDAY SPECIALS HOLIDAY TURKEY I CANT FREAKING STAND IT ANY MORE!! !! :wall:

Yes, I have officially gone insane. Haven't you seen the news the past couple of days? EVERYONE is insane now! Shooting, stabbing, killing AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! !! !! !! !! !! !! !! !!

My neighborhood is the elaborately decorated. We have lights. Our neighbors have lights. Each house on the block has a painted sign with one of the things from the partrige in a pear tree song. We have 4 calling birds. It is lit up by a solar-powered night light. Our lights are blinking for eggstra annoyance factor, harharhar. I like it. It's like a little Disney World here.

What I do is put a Christmas tree in each of my 9 front windows. I love Christmas trees. The most I ever put up in my house was a few years ago when I had 35 fully decorated Christmas trees in the house. They went up to 10 feet tall, with most in the 6 to 7 foot range. That was the year I had an open house for a tour of homes in the area. I haven't put that many up since then. I am using the 9 Christmas trees in each front window this year. Many people in my community decorate with lights for Christmas.
