Freedom of speech does not cover harrasment, which is exactly what WBC would be doing by protesting the funeral. I think it is harrassment to go near funerals and try to get attention for hate speech while disrupting the funeral. If they want to go on about how God is punishing people with things like this they have every right so long as they are not disrupting things like funerals which is harassing.

But I suppose maybe not everyone would consider that harassment.

Wow, WBC getting called a hate group by hate groups. I despise white supremacists but this is probably the first time I'd say I agreed with the Klan.

That said, couple of White House petitions currently active. The first aims to classify WBC as a hate group, which would deny them the benefits of being a "community centre" as some churches and other places of worship are (probably just protection against eminent domain seizures, etc.), while the second one - started by members of Anonymous, no less - calls for an IRS investigation into WBC's tax-exempt status. Hopefully that could lead to their non-profit status being revoked, and all the cuts and benefits that go with that.

That's illegal. You have no idea if that is true and and your motive is to harass someone. I'm not sure what it's called in federal law, but it's basically filing false police report!

Yes and so I disagree with the Supreme Court....standing outside a funeral were everyone is having a very difficult time screaming about how god hates everyone and bla bla bla and being disruptive looks a lot like harassment. But the Supreme court just might be full of idiots....I suppose the false police report would not be to smart but I have a feeling that comment wasn't even serious.

Either way I wouldn't shed tears over WBC being hurt.
