I can assure you without a doubt that your gun extinction fantasies will never even come remotely close to materializing in the US.

Hmm, a slightly greater chance of being murdered but roughly the same chance of being the victim of other crime, but much greater personal freedoms, vs a slightly lesser chance of murder and massive restrictions what you can say or own and hugely invasive and pervasive surveillance... I'd say quite a few people would choose the former over the latter.
Citation needed on how our freedom of speech is "restricted" and invasive "surveillance"...also our crime rates are massively lower than America. Massively.
Just one set of facts, handily borrowed from another topic:
Rate of homicide by any method in England and Wales 1.1 vs 100K vs. 4.6 per 100K in the US.
Rate of homicide by guns n England and Wales .1 per 100K vs 2.98 per 100K in the US
UK is a safer country by miles. Mentality wise, we are at least a century ahead of America...especially in the one of the most important - Moral responsibility. We protect our young.

Probably. Nor will my 'fantasy' of protecting children in America. I give America about three months before another high school shooting. Probably less than that.
Sadly I agree with you. In NZ we have have moverd from sucking on mother Englands tit to a more Asia Pacific alliance including of course the big 2 USA and China
NZ used to be a mildly socialist nation, our ministers would make regular pilgrimages to Scandinavian to learn mild socialist policy (including high tax rates)
Now we have an economic model more closely resembling the free market policies of the US and WTO.
I heard ASD and ADHD services in the UK are very good compared to NZ. The French have socialist leanings too, shame about their treatment of autistics though
I can assure you without a doubt that your gun extinction fantasies will never even come remotely close to materializing in the US.

You don't even have a grasp of the concept. Your idea of protecting them from the boogey man is to make excuses for him, blame inanimate objects, or tell those children you claim to be trying to protect to bury their heads in the sand from the threat that exists...

Hopefully we'll have better measures in place by then. By better measures I mean an armed response of some kind in place.

You mean the obvious nature advantage against the young? Well obviously, but man-made danger prevention is getting better in some societies. Are children even allowed to play in a playground over in America, or is that just another firing range instead of a swing?

What threat? We don't have guns over here!
Although when kids are old enough to read the news and ask about firearms, then we'll explain the American society.
Or just show the evidence in clear and plain words:

More guns = More deaths? Hell, even Cumberbatch couldn't make the evidence so clearly obvious. What do you think, Holmes? Ban firearms. All of them. Now.

Well at least you're not denying it won't happen again, but then, if Americans are already resigned to more children dying pointlessly, why are they so outraged when it happens?

But if guns become extinct, people will simply turn to some other thing to kill each other, like knives or something else.

My point is that they will never be extinct.
