I grew up with Leonard Nimoy as Spock.

Spock was pretty close to being a pretty perfect person, in my opinion.

Ah, I remember watching the original Star Trek when I was young -- mostly in syndication, I think. So long, Mr. Spock. You will be missed. Sheldon might be moved to tears, today.

Of my friend, I can only say this: of all the souls I have encountered in my travels, his was the most... human.

It's been a sad day ever since I turned on my pc to read this. Leonard played one of my favorite characters that I watched growing up as a kid. I'll have to pull out my Star Trek series and watch them now in memory. R.I.P.

Spock was and always will be 'Star Trek'. Anyone on the planet who watched the original series always remembers him to the exclusion of pretty much all the other characters.

Not bad for an Aspie, eh ...

Yep....1966. The Fall of 1966, most of the previously black-and-white shows became color.

I got my first tooth out in 1966 while watching "Jack LaLanne" in black-and-white.

There will never be anybody like Mr. Spock!

I was a wee one at the time, sitting inside the box the new console 25" setchell-carlson color tv came in, watching star trek for the first time and seeing how fluorescent everything looked. color tv sets of the era made colors absolutely GLOW. an indelible memory. I remember in the pilot episode ["the cage" 1964] that spock was tinted a reddish hue and spoke differently.

Wow. I wonder how the gang from The Big Bang Theory will react? Especially Sheldon.

My mom and I were wondering this too. He is a sci-fi legend that will be truly missed.

May he long live and prosper.

^^^
if the show makes a reference to it, would that be the first time a network tv show had characters react to the death of an actor from another network's tv show?
