How am i lying. I am a half British half Iraqi Christian., I have lived most of my life in the UK. Before i started to read masses of information avidly i had no opinion on Iraqi politics.

Most of my reading matter is of western origin yet i also read translated Iraqi and for that matter ANY information. Trust me, i am 100 percent unbiased in a wy that you cannot possibly be. When i was 11 i wanted to join the RAF .

Are you Chaldean Christian?

I'm curious about what the belief system is like. Roman Catholicism (and, consequently Protestantism) has been corrupted by European paganism. The schisms that led to Orthodox Christianity (e.g. Greek, Russian) occurred well after Christianity was corrupted by paganism, so I am curious to know whether or not Chaldean Christianity was effected by similar corruption. As a woman, I am also curious to know about the role of women in Chaldean Christianity, since Ambrose of Milan evidently placed women into a secondary role in Christian clergy well after Christianity was established as a religion in Europe.

This isn't meant as flame bait - I don't know how many of my other posts you read, but it's pretty well known that I am Roman Catholic. However I question the "correctness" of Roman Catholicism and Protestantism due to the paganization of Christianity for mass consumption.

My father was a good Chaldean Christian though i am myself somewhat agnostic. In fact i am not perhaps the best person to ask...or am i. I refused my first communion at age 7 and am probably the only person ever to have spat on the Chaldean top priest's - the Patriarch's ring which i was supposed to kiss at age 3 but i freaked and spat on it. I do claim to be autistic or aspergers after all...

The Chaldean religion is allowed to retain its top man the archetype ever since the Catholic church murdered the top priest and absorbed the church, it is somewhat confusing i will need to have another go at researching it.

The Chaldean church differs from the Catholic church in a few respects most importantly and perhaps fundamentally is something to do with the trinity i think and also Mary's place in it all.

The Chaldeans of Iraq converted to Christianity from Idolatry in the year 100 AD or before and claim to be the original inhabitants of Babylon. I read a book - Layard's Nineveh which described the main town the Chaldeans stayed in called Tal Kef and the archeologist Layard was traveling with an intolerant Turkoman who claimed that they were lazy and prefered to spend their money on drink instead of taxes...right enough the Christian greeting party's lanterns were seen approaching in the dark night in a drunken manner. Still, they were much valued as recent Republican guards due to their loyalty and valor. Tariq Aziz, President Saddam's right hand man is Chaldean.

To answer your question, women in Iraqi Christianity do not wear the veil - in fact it is very rare amongst the muslims unlike Afghanistan and Iran - and many do not wear the abaya which is the black Iraqi shawl which does not cover the face yet like Scots with the Kilt or in fact much more so they still love their abaya and may wear it when older. My aunts in the 1960's Baghdad wore Italian clothes that showed their legs half way above the knees and just as revealing clothes as any Londoner or Parisian. President Saddam himself brought womens rights to a near Western standard. Since the invasion Christian women hairdressers and liquor stores have been attacked and sometimes the proprieters killed or tortured by mad bastard nutters mostly Shia and we are talking a small percent of the Shia that your country has imported into Iraq and from within the nutty 5 percent of the Iraqi public....So much for freedom and equality and democrawcy.

As far as i can make out the Catholic church is the abomination of abominations and the mothe rof all harlots. Yet the Chaldeans i find to be very simple and pure in their belief and much more like the real Christianity flaws and all rather than the darkly satanic Catholic church.

Ps please note that the Iraqi Christians support Iraqi resistance and in Iraq are part of it at all levels.
