NC residents blocked from porn site because of anti-LGBT law
I watched meet the press yesterday and they had that one NC woman who is also a writer and journalist on the show.
She is openly against the law and has written and publicly stated the harm of it.
She claims she gets large number of people from NC calling and writing her on all channels telling her she is for little girls getting raped in the bathrooms, which is what will happen without this law.
She also says the majority of NC residents are for it, truly believing it is keeping little kids safe and are willing to endure economic collapse to do it.
They want to make a point.

As I imagine the writer in question had already mentioned, there is absolutely no evidence of trans-women sexually assaulting anyone in the ladies room.

No, but the majority of the people in NC believe that, regardless of the evidence thanks to supporters of the law running with it.

Cruz is putting trans-women in danger by supporting a law forcing them to use the men's room filled with violently homophobic rednecks.

Let's see how the North Carolina legislature likes sticking to their guns with their bigotry disguised as morality when the biggest money makers like the NBA pull out.

They're digging in for a long brutal fight.
They have the backing of the NC voters.

So did segregation, but look how that worked out for North Carolina.

That's not the same thing, especially with NC not being as bad as the other southern states.
This spat is being done to save the Republican majority and Republican Governor from massive November defeat.
The Democrats were on path to win the governorship and possibly win a majority in both houses of the legislature.
Now with this fight, the voters are energized and backing the GOP, if it holds out they should retain their majorities and the governorship crushing the Democrats.
If the election was held today, they'd gain a bigger majority in each house causing the opposition to lose seats.

But at what cost? By making certain citizens pariahs, while allowing many of the others to give in to their basest prejudices? And while the Republicans can boast about how they kept power in the North Carolina, it will be at the cost of perhaps thousands of jobs, plus the whole state will have an even more tarnished reputation than they already have.

A good portion of the NC citizen that truly believe the fear mongering behind the law, they probably had the majority all along.
When the those outside of NC started pressuring NC to change, NC banned together to against the outsiders.
The outsiders galvanized the NC population.

The same thing happened with their opposition to black civil rights, and North Carolina and the rest of the south lost that battle in the end, too.

Yeah and the South still hasn't moved on from it.
They still are bitter about it and still do things to black people.
