Not really deluded when apparently their power can go a long ways outside of their areas of expertise, a certain celebrity did just win the presidency after all.

It seems like it motivates more people to vote against them than actually helps their cause, it's attention seeking narcissism being took advantage of by cynical plotting politicians. No, I do not care about what Hollywood has to say about anything and perhaps they should clean up their own house before casting stones as Hollywood is an empire of pedophilia which everybody knows as open secret while they still apologize for rapists like Roman Polanski.

Trump is a part of Hollywood, so them criticizing him is an attempt at cleaning their own house, from a point of view. I'd like to make it clear I don't care about or really like Hollywood.

Saw the video.
It was nothing more than grandstanding born of butthurt on her part.
People need to cowboy up to the fact that for better or worse Trump won and just get on with thier lives.

Could not agree more! I mean, what the hell are those celebrities doing?

Next thing you know, there will be reality TV stars trying to act like a president :)

But nothing like using stage time while being honored during the Golden Globe Awards to push forward a political agenda.

I agree, she is grandstanding. Not to much effect though, more for her peers at the ceremony than to actually further any political agenda. Do swayable Republicans in any large number even watch the Liberal Golden Globes, or is this just a reactionary news piece. Any press is good press they tend to say.

Edit: I tried to watch the video of her speech and I had to stop pretty early. Couldn't stomach it.

Classic fake news. The New York Times is Fake News Central.

Another Hollywood celebrity turns out to be a lying fraud -- what a surprise.

If you think the New York Times is a source of fake news you're simply crazy.

Crazy peoples are in power now. They have won the politic games in the most powerful country of the world and they would make so they stay in power. True will become lie and lie will become true. Game over.

Does this mean that the rules to game are crazy?

To me there's a difference between people expressing legitimate concerns and people on a witch hunt determined to destroy someone.

And what's even worse is they do it using methods they're supposed to be against. And top of that, so far none of this has worked for them. It didn't keep him from being elected and it didn't get the electors to change their minds. And yet they keep at this same obvious routine and continue to make themselves look more and more disingenuous.

She went too far with the lost voice from lamenting. That immediately made the whole thing look like a performance to me. Pure melodrama. I think you're right about any press being good press. I think that's one of the things that helped him win the election.

if people disagree with and object to a (coming) authority figure, and they are not alone, they can and WILL stand up to make their own voices heard, and to hold this person accountable for what he says.

to function, a democracy cannot turn a blind eye to those in power even for a second.

people should not just roll over and be passive simply because something that they do not like has happened, that may affect them negatively. that is a dangerous attitude to hold.

For me it's not what they're doing that's wrong, it's how they're going about it that's the problem.

Trump thinks they matter, his constant whining about about what these celebrities say and do makes thier political opinions matter more then they should. He was elected in part because people are sick of people bieng offended over everything. Not looking good on that front.

Celebrities are American citizens and honestly deserve a right to speak how they want, period. People such as Arnold, Reagan ran for office- people likely whined, but they won!

Donald Trump is technically a celebrity too. He has been featured on several reality shows. Also Trump has such thin skin- he can't avoid talking about people mentioning him. Trump is 70 years old- he needs to act like an adult instead of a whiny brat that goes on Twitter anytime someone hurts his little feelings.

To be totally honest- I would be fine with Trump (and any politician in general) using Twitter in a mature manner. He could've addressed Streep in a better way, but didn't. He could've mentioned Arnold/low ratings of Apprentice better- but he didn't. It really shows he is a thin skinned bully that can dish out the insults but can't take them! So sickening. Hell- most of what people say towards him are truths- there is audio, video and tweet proof of Trump saying or doing things.. but he generally denies it in some shape or form. His favorites include "I didn't say that" (especially when the proof is clearly easy to find, and not some doctored footage) and "I was just kidding". Trump can handle positive things said to him, but can't handle negative things.

I can't wait until he gets impeached once congress finds out how corrupt and evil he is.
