1) A ship going out to sea sinks the same way something going a hill does because of Earth's curves
2) Lunar Eclipses (yep, thats the whole argument)
3) Shadows. If you place two identical objects far apart at the same time of day they will create different size shadows
4) You see farther from the top of a tree than say standing beside the tree
5) GRAVITY
6) Practically every concept in physics and astrology...
And finally:
7) WHY HAVENT WE FALLEN OFF THE EDGE YET
(I couldve kept going by the way. FOR A LONG TIME)

Seriously. People who think the Earth is flat have something wrong with them...Why do so many people on this (ROUND!) planet choose not to believe in science even when they are presented with cold hard facts

Well...

About number seven.

The earth is a flat disk. Like the UN Symbol.

The center is the north Pole, and there is no actual "South Pole". The South Pole is actually the outer circumphrence of the round disk shaped Earth.

The Continent of Antarctica is like the like the crust on a round pizza. It hems the edge of the flat disk earth. And thats why the ocean doesnt run over the edge of the Earth. And nobody falls off of that outer edge of the Earth because no one ever goes to Antarctica except for the few internationally appointed goons appointed by the UN, NASA, and the Repogle Globe making company, to guard the place from busybodies seeking the truth. Except folks HAVE fallen off the edge, but they......suppress the news about it.

We are all taught Scott was racing Amundsen to be the first to discover the South Pole, and both reached it, but Amundsen returned, but Scott and his companions all died there. But in reality Scott actually fell off of the outer edge of the Earth, and Amundsen was paid off to not reveal that he saw the edge of the Earth.

Discworld is real. It's the way worlds should work. Admittedly, it is flat and goes through space on the back of four elephants which stand on the shell of a giant turtle, but consider the alternatives.

The disc, being flat, has no real horizon. Any adventurous sailor who got funny ideas from staring at eggs and oranges for too long and set out for the antipodes soon learned that the reason why distant ships sometimes looked as though they were disappearing over the edge of the world was that they were disappearing over the edge of the world.

People have both flown and sailed all the way around the world. If the world was flat, they wouldve reached the edge.
The 'pizza crust' thing completely goes against the concept of how the climate works in different parts of the globe. In fact, a flat earth concept in general destroys the basics of climate and weather etc etc.
Also, how does the moon work on a flat earth?
(I can keep going with more and more scientific back up. This is fun :P)

Just curious: how thin/thick would a flat earth be? And whats at the bottom? Whats in the middle? Where does lava come from? Cause actual lava comes from the mantel, a layer inside earth (which works since the earth is round)

Well..about that old saw about how sailors and pilots fly around the world, and don't fall off.

Well they aren't really going "around the world". They are just going round the flat disk of the earth (like a kid going around the block).

Sailors don't fall off the edge of the earth because the oceans are all hemmed in at the edge of the world disk by that pizza crust that is the continent of Antarctica. Airplane pilots? Well they have to follow FAA guidelines and fly the proper routes, which keep the flying within the flat disk. The few rogue pilots who might have taken their planes to the outer edge probably were...disposed of ...when they returned home...before they could blab about seeing the edge of the earth!

The Sun and the Moon?

Well I am undecided about that. MODERN flat earthers, like you see on U Tube, are little different about that than the ancients were.

I am not sure which way I go on that.

The ancient civilizations assumed that the sun rose in the east, traveled in an arc across the sky, and set in the west, and then went underneath the flat earth, and rose again in the east the next morning. Egyptians, Greeks,Indians, American Indians, etc, all had that belief.

But modern flat earthers claim that the both the Sun and the moon stay above the flat earth disk, and that they both move in circle above the flat earth, and they only appear to rise and set because of distance, but never really go beneath the flat earth.

Both the earth and moon are about ten miles across, or like that, and they both hover a few hundred miles above the flat earth. At high noon the sun is above your head, but then it moves closer to the horizon and at night appears to set.

Day and night cycles are easily explained on a flat earth. The sun moves in circles around the North Pole. When it is over your head, it's day. When it's not, it's night. The light of the sun is confined to a limited area and its light acts like a spotlight upon the earth. The picture below illustrates how the sun moves and also how seasons work on a flat earth. The apparent effect of the sun rising and setting is usually explained as a perspective effect.

When the sun is further away from the North Pole, it's winter in the northern hemiplane (or hemisphere) and summer in the south. A more simplistic picture can be found below.

That makes literally no sense lmao

The Sun could never work that way. For one, because all the planets revolve around the sun, not the other way around. Also because ya know its a giant ball of extremely hot plasma burning many miles away. In the flat earth theory, is the sun still a star? How do the other planets work? Or the solar system in general? Why are all other planets spherical? Does the earth no longer rotate?
Also, please explain GRAVITY on a flat earth. Cause last I checked I wasnt being pulled sideways :mrgreen:
