How is that innuendo?

Innuendo, insinuation, suspicion, accusation, "where there's smoke there's fire" et al. Been going on for years now. zzzzzz.

You haven't noticed Trump leaving his businesses in a "blind trust," which is just his kids running things for him rather than divesting himself of it all? Or how his daughter (a White House adviser) was given patents and business deals in China right after he became President? Or how Trump has foreign dignitaries staying at his resorts? That's only the tip of the iceberg, and all provable. Or perhaps you've been struck with willful blindness.

Forgive my apathy but I have been hearing these kinds of allegations for years now.

I can certainly understand your apathy. Why do you continue to read and post if you are so apathetic about the topic? Just wondering. Not a criticism.

While I cannot answer for EzraS, my interest is down to the point of monitoring events to see if the final "put up or shut up" moment has come between the President and the Senate.

I understand your point. I don't think you are apathetic. I only mentioned it because Ezra said he was apathetic.

One can be tired of a topic, but still follow it for a variety of reasons. But I don't see why one would follow something that one was apathetic about. If I don't care one way or the other about a topic, I don't follow it.

The potential impeachment and trial of a President is certainly something that one should never be apathetic about.

The first definition of apathetic is: 1 : having or showing little or no feeling or emotion. I'm not moved by the latest string of allegations because they just sound like previous strings of allegations that have been put forth for years now that have not led to anything of real significance.

Yeah but what gets called the potential for impeachment has been going on for ages. It usually seems to be presented as this being the big one that's going to get him impeached any day now, which stretches out into any week, any month, any year now. Which continues to add to the suspicion that the whole thing is a sham.

I'll lose my own apathy  when  if an impeachment actually happens.

There's only been an "impeachment inquiry" for a couple of weeks now.

Before, there was only speculation--true. But now, the nitty-gritty is just beginning.

I don't really care if he's put on trial on Articles of Impeachment---because I doubt that he will be found guilty by the Senate.

But I do hope he loses the next election---and go back to being a reality-show host.

Even that will probably end up going nowhere, if it happens, but at least it will have finally taken place.

An impeachment on its own will not remove anyone from office -- it is only an indictment or statement of charges. I doubt that anyone will even resign if the impeachment goes through.

The impeached official remains in office until a trial is held. That trial, and their removal from office if convicted, is separate from the act of impeachment itself. Analogous to a trial before a judge and jury, those proceedings are conducted by the Senate.

I said "Impeachment and Trial." I am well aware of the procedures of Impeachment and Trial.

I studied this while Nixon was President.

I made that post because I am aware of the possibility that some people reading this thread are likely to believe that impeachment automatically results in removal from office and/or incarceration in prison. It was NOT directed at you, KK, nor at or any other person in particular.

Innuendo, insinuation, suspicion, accusation, "where there's smoke there's fire" et al. Been going on for years now. zzzzzz.

That's because those accusations are true.

Only reason Trump isn't in the next episode of "Orange is the new Black" is because of loopy legal technicalities.

True to you.
