You people amaze me. Judging by your responses...

1) Lack of evidence proves there is a conspiracy to cover up your "truth".

2) Expert testimony that favors a UFO conspiracy lacks evidence, yet is accepted as "truth".

3) Expert testimony that favors no UFO conspiracy has evidence, yet is rejected as "lies".

4) Anything that does not support your "UFOs and Space Aliens Among Us" mantra is part of a cover-up conspiracy.

5) No matter what anyone says, it only serves to reinforce your unfounded beliefs.

6) Snowdon was once the darling of all who sought to discredit the government.

7) Now that Snowdon has attacked one of your sacred beliefs, he is no longer credible.

You got all that from the responses above your post? Okaaaay.

I was joking about MIB if that helps any.

Exactly

Everyone was either just joking, or saying something reasonable (like there could be life elsewhere in the cosmos, but that they haven't found us yet- ie UFOs have nothing to do with ETs, and ETs are probably just bacteria anyway).

Only Cyberdad made an actual non joking flight of fancy to shore up the cause of belief in UFOs, and did so in a way similar to what Fnord is griping about (by trying to have it both ways- casting Snowden in the role of both rebel AND toady to the powers at be at the same time).

The point is that UFOs are sure fire way of discrediting yourself so technically doesn't require a conspiracy.

If either Snowden or Assange released memos relating to aliens/UFOs then the content would automatically disqualify any other leaks they make to be perceived as fake.

So my guess is if they have some UFO/Alien related memos in their "hot little hands" they will file it away in a locked safe and bury that safe in a hole 2km deep for another time.....

http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/15/us/area-5 ... index.html

The CIA has admitted to the existence of Area 51. No aliens though.

The government does hide stuff and there has been government conspiracies and all other manner of consipiracies. In fact, there really was an Illuminati.

If one wants to measure how probable a conspiracy theory is compare it to others that have been proven true or have been exposed. The closer the conspiracy theory matches others the more probable it is.

Example: We've had government experiments involving syphilis and the tusagee airmen. Moren then likely maybe there are others that have happened in the past and others still going on.

While I'm not a "believer" I do find the whole UFO thing intriguing. Same with Bigfoot and paranormal stuff. I like watching documentary type vidos on those types of subjects from time to time. Even if it's all "fake" I still like the mystique surrounding it.

The US government hid the nuclear program from public knowledge during WWII despite employing thousands in the manufacture of of weapons. It's quite possible to use state security apparatus to hide the release of highly classified information.

The release of documents pertaining to UFOs has already happened after applications for FOI applicable under constitutional rights of US citizens making the application after the embargo has elapsed. Despite the release most of the UFO related documents were highly redacted to the point people were reading page after page of black lines.

Congress approved $22 million in funding for UFO research in the mid 2000s (based on naval ships getting harassed by unknown flying entities) despite the earlier 1969 Condon report debunking UFOs. This demonstrates what the UFO community have been saying for years that the official project blue book publication did not examine the data with enough seriousness and the navy and airforce knew it.
