That would be the ideal case, but where would he get a fair trial?  Better he should not waste any more time or money, and just change his plea to 'guilty' and accept the consequences.

Bannon shoulda listened to Capone and just picked one thing, or the other. Extremist poliitcs, OR larceny. Not both!

The only issue is how long he will be in jail. According to the conversation article he is looking at 20yrs. Perhaps his earlier friendship with Trump might mean he will only get a "Lori Loughlin" type slap on the wrist and be out in a year. But defrauding trump supporters to line his pockets looks very very bad so close to an election so the orange man might want to make an example.

With our luck, Trump will pardon him the night before he leaves office on January 20th, 2021.

Every charity has administrative costs.

That comes out first.

Some have very high administrative costs, some low.

When a charity says, "100% of your donation goes towards ... XXX" ... it is understood that admin costs come out first.

When does a government project need to depend on donor funds? That there is where the fraud becomes evident.
