As I recall, Boris Johnson was effectively incapacitated from 6 April (perhaps even the day before) and did not return to work until 26 April, so for 3 full weeks he could not perform his duties as Prime Minister.

And Boris Johnson is 18 years younger than Donald Trump...

Trump is certainly in the same risk bracket in terms of severity as Boris Johnson (he is also technically obese) except he doesn't drink alcohol. it's probably too early to tell how long his recovery will take.

the man is just so cavalier, so insouciant, he just doesn't care about anybody, him and his followers just want to watch the world burn. is this nihilism or what?

As John Goodman's character Walter Sobchak said of nihilism in The Big Lebowski, "Say what you will about the tenents of National Socialism, Dude, but at least it's an ethos...."

I literally said last night that if Trump got COVID-19, it would be "poetic justice". I stand by that, wish him recovery, I want him to live to see the IRS seize his assets... and also to encourage others to social distance and wear masks whenever possible.

Trump has been both reckless and pushing recklessness in regard to COVID. I hope this mitigates that but with him who knows.

I am surprised they released this.

Interesting fact: On this day 101 years ago, US President Woodrow Wilson suffered a stroke leaving him partially paralyzed. It is suggested, although as far as I know unproven, that the stroke he suffered was a direct result of contracting the "Spanish Flu" whilst conducting events at Versailles after the Great War [WWI]. The First Lady quietly took on many of his duties until his term of office was over, and he never fully recovered from the stroke. Wilson was the first President to use the slogan "America First" [Trump was the second, but the Ku Klux Klan used it before either of them], and also like our current President, Wilson was a supporter of white nationalism and white supremacist ideologies.

...and visibly more obese. It makes the breathing on a ventilator that much more difficult.

Compared to a reference group of 18-29 years old, a person in the 65- 74 age group has:

- 5 times the risk of hospitalization due to coronavirus infection
- 90 times the risk of death due to coronavirus infection

- At the same time, being obese (BMI > 30) triples the risk of hospitalization.

Source:
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... y-age.html
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-nc ... tions.html

Anyway, according to the Guardian, here is a list of people who could possibly have been exposed to infection:

Joe Biden
Mike Pence
The entire Trump family
Mitch McConnell (Senate Majority Leader)
Mark Meadows (White House Chief of Staff)
Amy Coney Barrett (nominee for Supreme Court)
… plus many more as Trump and many of his associates often do not wear masks, even when attending large events.

Source: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... -for-covid

… and apparently the test used by the White House has a reputation for false negatives, so we can't even be sure that those who initially got a negative answer have in fact not been infected...

No worries, folks ... The Donald is receiving the best possible medical care in the world.

The kind which us ordinary citizens cannot afford to receive.

Pence and Pompeo tested negative. I hope Barron does not have it.

Biden kept his social distance during and after the debate.

Any way it got out because Trump tweeted it out. After Hope Hicks got it Trump was on Fox news and said he and Melenia were being tested. After that no way to hide it.

Boris is younger, he just looks old.

Trump is actually old.
