Shrooms are really dangerous unless administered by a mental health professional with an MD

I don't put anything in my mouth unless it's been passed through the therapeutic goods Act.

Don’t eat poisonous ones or too many and you will be just fine.

Oh! you mean pick your own! well...that is different

I mentioned that when I was an undergrad, the mycology lecture on hallucinogenic mushrooms attracted hundreds of students who weren't even majoring in the subject

Apparently the colour is important, difference between tripping and dying.

It’s best to check and see if there are poisonous ones that look similar to what you are collecting.Spore prints are helpful and also beautiful.

I agree.

There are some poisonous mushrooms which look like non-poisonous mushrooms.

Yeah let's eat a freaky fungus that people used to take to make the world look weird, and now the world really is weird so taking it now makes the world look normal. Makes perfect sense.

I really enjoyed those books when I was in school

Wow, I did not know anyone here knew about the Adventures of Don Juan and his experiences around Peyote buttons. Guess am not so old ?
Am very glad to see it unregulated but honestly there needs to be some public education on it .
My supposed single experience with it was significantly underwhelming. Saw some Trails , maybe the shrooms were
Old or something . Prefer not to live with risk , So it was not worth it to me.

What risk? :?

Psilocybin is statistically safer than any other recreational drug known to man, safer than caffeine, nicotine, alcohol etc. There is no known lethal dose, unlike the others mentioned that can all kill you.

By all means - lets let everyone self-medicate themselves to death if they want to. As long as they don't take anyone down with them in the process.

Sure
https://drugpolicy.org/drug-facts/how-r ... -mushrooms

But....it can send you to space/interdimensional and out of commission for several days. And that's not taking into account accidentally picking poisonous ones and or getting LSD pills mixed with something else

This is more important perhaps for our cultural changes than anything else, public image / public perception, but it's a step in the right direction and, as I'm sure it'll happen, you'll get wider varieties of mushrooms with different effect profiles (similar to what they're hoping to do with weed where metaphor 'We have every flavor of 151 you could want!' no longer applies).

What I'm really hoping for is that Paul Stamets is able to eventually sell his Stamets stack microdose formula online, that might even help reinstate the Flynn effect and help us avoid real-life Idiocracy (or at least stave it off for a generation or two).

Right now, even in states that haven't legalized recreational marijuana, like where I live, still have vape shops selling Delta-8, THC-P, THC-H, and all kinds of 'workaround' natural analogs. This might just mean that there'll be ads for 4-aco-det, 4-ho-met, and other psilocin-like tryptamines showing up on Facebook in the next few years as broader legalization gets closer for mushrooms.
