I wouldn't think of going off my anti-seizure medication. I am in good control of my seizures with minimal medication and have been free of trouble for just over five years now.

Excuse me. When I say, "unsustainable," I am using an inappropriate term for my meaning. However, what I had in mind is a legit problem: if you lose your job or fall on financial hard times, you may find yourself choosing between medication and the rent. Most people would rather fall off their medication than be without a home, I would think.

They need to do like they did on "jumpers" the news quit showing up for people threatning to jump off roofs.

This is just advertising.

This is nuts. Killing others for no reason. In other countries at least the terrorist bombers have a militery agenda, that almost makes sense.

People have ALWAYS offed themselves over bad relationships sometimes even killed the "loved "one . But NOW its trendy to shoot up a whole building full of people who have nothing to do with your problems.

The shooter was using psychiatric drugs and had recently stopped taking Prozac which may have caused him to kill.

LMAO! Reminds me of "where's my f*****g sweater?" Reply: "Next to your normal one." Switching the nouns and adjectives...

Seriously though, many of these cases involve psychiatric drugs. Once you get off them, you start thinking of doing stupid things. Yet, is it right to forcibly monitor some one in order to "make sure" that they're "taking their pills" on a regular basis? That sounds like a police state. It's an icky issue.

And then of course you have several solutions: the previously mentioned monitoring, the outreach, gun control, etc. The funny thing is that the least viable solution (gun control) is the most touted. I'm far more interested in the outreach approach then in the gun control approach. Finding people interested in helping others can be difficult, but it is usually possible and doesn't require mountains of effort. Taking away all guns certainly doesn't work. Having more stringent background checks requires the establishment of another branch of bureaucracy that does more harm than good.

Needless to say, it's a messed up situation.
