"The examples presented by the Haaretz reporter are not in accordance with IDF values and are simply tasteless," the military statement said.

"This type of humour is unbecoming and should be condemned."

Did you read that part of the article?

And the hezbollah leaders say on tv that hating jews is not in accordance with their values, does that really reflect what the followers really think ? or even how the leaders think deep inside?

My thoughts...

It's just a psycholgical defense mechism they are using so that they can cope with the horrors of doing what they need to do to protect their country from suicide bombers and rocket attacks.

I imagine some people would take offense at you saying it is "their" country. Further, this is in general a two-way street, people that take one side or the other make me very suspicious. I'm more of a "get rid of religion to get rid of religious strife" mindset.

It is the anglicization of the Hebrew acronym for Torah, Nevi'im, Ktubim. Torah, the Prophets, the Writings. What you Gentiles call the Old Testament.

Speaking of prophets, if you read the book of Ezekiel, you will see that Israel is going to exterminate the Arab world sooner or later (and the Arabs and Russians will be the instigators), so why bother complaining about the inevitable?

Referencing very old books with no connection to our modern world is what got these people into this mess in the first place. Let's not further that cause. Also, to the second quote, the fact that you see this as inevitable because of your (more likely someone else's) cryptic deciphering of incredibly cryptic text makes me fear for your sanity.

Well, it's an example of bad humor but when you look at all the bad humor out there, it's hardly an isolated example.

Calling this bad humor seems like a euphemism. It would be one thing for some random Jewish person to joke about killing pregnant Palestinians, but it's quite another for people that actually kill Palestinians to make this joke. It moves away from bad humor and moves towards an abomination against humanity.

Do you really think it would have been possible in ancient times to explain fighter jets and tanks to people?

You should read this sentence over and over. This is why you should not believe that nonsense. These were people that thought the Earth was flat. They should not be your reference point for the nature of the universe.

On both sides you have extremists in leadership and moderates in the populace. Also, I should add that neither you or I can ever (hopefully) know what it's like to have the "other side" kill a loved one. Until we can relate to that experience, we should be careful how judgmental we are of them being reactionary. So condemn the action but understand the individual.
