That said, I hope that it is indeed warming. That may easily be the very best thing that can happen for the future of mankind.

“You admit that you can't tell us what conditions we should be under as a result of Milankovitch cycles but then you make claims that we have deviated from those cycles.”
Inventor
?????????????????????????????
READ THAT POST AGAIN!! !! How can you be confused???????????? Or are you saying that because I cannot predict what the exact temperature will be on July 15, there is no such thing as summer? I know that summer will be on average warmer than winter, (because of the tilt of the earth) and it is. According to the Milankovitch cycles we should be cooler (because of the earth’s position).
However, even though the natural cycles ( Milankovitch) contribute cool temperatures, AGW more than makes up for their cooling effect.

“The truth is that nobody knows, including you, where we should be under the Milankovitch cycle.”
Inventor
?????????????????? So all the scientists in the world are lying? The Milankovitch cycles are understood. READ THE SCIENTIST’S STATEMENTS!! !! !! !! !! !! !!

" The climate is quite complicated and there is no single factor on which anyone can honestly base their climate projections"
eric 76
??????????????? I am not only basing the climate on Milankovitch cycles. If I were I would say the world is cooling. But it is clearly not. ( remember that I proved that Humanant's graph is a fraud).
The Milankovitch cycles are based on the eccentricity, axial tilt, and precession of the Earth's orbit. We understand those!! ! Are you saying that we cannot predict the position of the earth?????????
CO2 has been proven under laboratory conditions to produce warming.

Do something about your reading skills, I am the one who says there is global warming, has been for 15,000 years, and it is a good thing. Before this you credit me with eric's post, I am the other guy.

I am against government science. They are the ones that have backed the destruction of planet biology. Strip mining the oceans of life, chemical farming, clear cutting old growth forests, and aproving things like DDT, Dioxen, Tetra Ethel Lead, Cloroflorocarbons, and the mass use of antibiotics in animal production.

One they are creating a desert, two a change in evolution, favoring antibiotic resistant super bugs.

The planet is colder than it has been in several hundred million years, we are in an ice age, 130,000 out of the last 150,000 years have seen ice down to Saint Louis, London, and our present 10,000 year interglacial is the longest. It has been twice as long as the last two.

In the choice between warming and a million year planet snowball, warming might have some problems, a return of the ice almost everyone dies.

Another cycle, we bob up and down as we circle the galaxy. Every 26,000 year we cross the galactic plane. Space junk collects there, and we have the mile wide craters to prove it. One meteor strike, a cubic kilometer of dust and ash pushed to the edge of space, the ice returns. We are currently entering the galactic plane, meteor action has picked up, crossing the plane will take a thousand years.

The suns gravity catches space junk, and slings it around mostly on the solar plane, where we are the target, it is not a one time pass through, it is new rocks in new orbits, coming to your neighborhood soon, and often.

Two degrees warmer in a hundred years, or everybody dies. Take your pick.

Due to mismanagement by science and government, most people will die by mid century. We have passed peak soil, are running out of fresh water, have created super bugs, and have an unsupportable population bubble. All bubbles pop.

Our greatest threats are self inflicted.

We're largely in agreement.

I'm not convinced that the global warming we may be seeing is entirely manmade considering that when exiting the "little ice age" we should be warming up and that Global Warming represents the best chance for the future of mankind to be bright. The real disaster would be to cool back down into yet another period of glaciation in the current ice age -- a disaster that would mean starvation and death by starvation on enormous scales all around the world.

NOPE! ( please read my posts before commenting on them) We should be in a cooling phase, if only the Milankovitch cycles are considered.

Actually, cycles do occur and that is more evidence of AGW. If it were not for man’s influence we would be getting cooler. However, as ALL the data shows we are getting warmer.

“Where are we currently in the natural cycle (Milankovitch cycle)?
The warmest point of the last cycle was around 10,000 years ago, at the peak of the Holocene.Since then, there has been an overall cooling trend, consistent with a continuation of the natural cycle, and this cooling would continue for thousands of years into the future if all else remained the same. But since 1750 however, the CO2 content of the atmosphere has deviated from the natural cycle. Instead of decreasing, it has increased because of the fossil-fuel burning. Methane and nitrous oxide have also increased unnaturally because of agricultural practices and other factors. The world has also warmed unnaturally. We are now deviating from the natural cycle.”

So you and eric 76 both have the same unsubstantiated and silly views? I prefer science. You can have your intuition and lack of ANY evidence. If you have ANY evidence, why don't you give it?!

Most government science ( EPA etc) is anti-pollution etc. Also, please explain how science that endorses the fact of global warming is anti-environment. Less CO2 production impacts the petro-chemical industry. AGW believers ( those that believe in the scientific method) are overwhelmingly environmentalists. Those that deny AGW are supported by the petro-chemical industry and international corporations.

The Milankovitch cycles are one factor -- a factor that is not well understood. There are a number of open problems involving the Milankovitch cycles. The science is hardly settled.

Of course, that makes it clear that your "science" is based on wishful thinking.
