You seem to think that the minimum wage is arbitrary.

It isn't. The minimum wage exists so that people can pay for what they literally need to live.
People are arguing for a minimum wage increase because people who make minimum wage can't even afford vital necessities.

Perhaps there could be a separate minimum wage for teenagers who still live at home ... but no society should let innocent people die.

A society which lets its own members die of starvation or exposure is barely a society.

They're the ones being financially crippled by the current health insurance system. They're the ones who want/need the current healthcare system replaced. They're the ones who voted for Trump hoping he would fix the healthcare system for them.The people you're talking about are not the ones getting gouged. Excuse me for thinking you were talking about the people who were actually relivant in the equation.

Poor people don't pay taxes and minimum wage, sets the bar for the minimum I could pay someone... I would pay more, but the state/federal set the minimum for entry level work, so I roll with it.

if you think going back to pre-ACA is the solution to all the problems, you have a 'nother think coming. one of these days the :idea: will come on and you'll grok what I have been saying. the previous system was good ONLY for the upper classes, by definition a middle class job was the one which included health insurance, the working class mcjobs got zip. now if you think that is a good thing, then the discussion is over.

Fast food workers and those who are stocking shelves at the local gas station are for those needing a part time job while gaining a valuable skill, those in between jobs, or a second job to clean up debts... Really, if someone is depending on those for a living well into their adult life. They need to take a good hard look at their life and make some changes.
