I think that making a joke out of terrible world news will often be met with a factual answer from someone with 100% more common sense than you seem to display.

I am not making a joke. Since 1948 most of us have not been directly involved in the Israel-Palestine conflict, or other civil wars around the world.

What we do face is cost of living expenses from these wars and the arrival of refugees to our shores who flee these conflicts and have stories to tell. I am older than most of you and remember many conflicts and many who have suffered.

And I distinctly remember, back during the post-9/11 wave of Islamophobia, ADL spoke out against Islamophobia on at least several occasions. For example, if I recall correctly, back in 2010 they spoke out against the folks who were panic-mongering about the so-called "ground zero mosque." They seemed to have taken to heart the famous Niemoller quote.

But then, if I recall correctly, they had a turnover in management, and the new people in charge were much more right wing.

Actually "whats going on" is what the late Delores O'Riordan and the Cranberries sang about in their the Eighties song "Zombie" inspired by an IRA bombing in England that killed school kids. The song was about how adults get caught up in tribal cycles of violence for generations and centuries, and the children suffer the most.

HAMAS murders innocent civilians...and it has the desired effect of Israel retaliating by murdering even greater numbers of innocent civilians.

Indeed I don't know the full history of the ADL. My remarks earlier in this thread are based on impressions I've gotten from their website at various times over the years.
