Hey all, how's that Global Warming argument going, after people on this very site pointed out leaked emails on a Russian file server a few months before the story made Global impact? From my memory the same tactics, name calling and calls of crazy loony denialists were received. Pick apart Beck's research or take the easier road, and dismiss him because the NY Times told you to do it. I'm not a "crazy fundy" or have a woody for Beck, just an Aspie that likes to get to the bottom of things and is tired of these kinds of tactics because at the end of the day we all lose.

Well, whoever has the answers, I'm certain it's not Glenn Beck. Trust in the Lord.

How about you actually look at his research instead of simply buying into what the New York Times and other leftist loons say about him?

Also the trust in the lord comment is kinda ironic considering the fact if I remember correctly you are an atheist.

I think you're lumping all your opposite numbers into 'leftist & atheist' lol I believe Bill stated he is religious, today actually in another thread, or perhaps it was yesterday?
Any case, Beck is crazy, and is just an entertainer, and even he knows it

I don't read the New York Times. And I'm an atheist? Atheist? I've told you personally more than once that I'm a practicing Lutheran! Missouri Synod, to be exact, which is hardly theologically to the left.
I know, there are WP members here who are atheists with whom I more often than not find myself in agreement with. But please, please, keep us straight.
I can imagine you mentioning to your friends how you were crossing swords again with that Lutheran guy, aunt blabby!

Funny, as I'm a Lutheran, I'm amillinialistic. We leave all that misreading of Revelation with talk of the apocalypse to the evangelicals.

Why do you think I said "if I remember correctly" in the first place, didn't pay much attention to that particular thread.

In any case, how about you actually look at the research before you go running around and questioning an individual's sanity.

Because if he sounds crazy, especially compared to the mainstream news sources, he probably is crazy. Or at least for what ever reason, he's doing a damn fine facsimile of it.

Or he isn't crazy and the mainstream media sources are being dishonest, based on the MSM's behavior I'm more inclined it is the MSM is being dishonest.

Good luck. The world was flat at one time! What was the mainstream thinking at the time and what tactics were being used to discredit the idea? Sure there are some loons out there and History has a funny way of repeating itself. Looking at the role the media plays in countries that have marginal political freedoms, I think its a good idea to get news from many different sources.

Its kinda of funny how Fox News has become the "corporate news outlet" while NBC is owned by GE and pushes a green agenda while colluding with the Govt. to ban a certain kind of light bulb and profit grossly from the act. And, if anyone dies from the toxic components of this new light bulb, then GE has the Govt. to guard its back when it comes to class action lawsuits. Beck may be crazy, or his words may sound crazy, but they're just words, not documented lefty craziness that has failed in every other country it has been attempted. Oh well, lets burn our food while we're at it while people starve and watch History repeat itself once again. Social engineers might want to get out of engineering and stay in the Liberal Arts department, because failure on this scale is unforgivable. My two cents. Good Luck.

The minuscule mercury content and its health threat has been completely overblown by the lunatic fringe. If I'm wrong, show me some legitimate documentation. And no, just because Glenn Beck says so doesn't count.

It's kinda funny how easy it is to tell if someone watches Fox just by how many times they say something's "kinda funny." :)

Fox News: Letting people live out their fantasy of being in an apocalyptic Roland Emmerich disaster-comedy for fifteen years!

Is it a coincidence that Independence Day & the Fox News Channel both came out in the same year?
You tell me, friends

If you break a bulb, the EPA suggests turning off your air conditioning/heating, have all pets/people leave the room or house, sweep up the glass and dust into sealed bag and dispose. Break an old style bulb and ignore all previously mentioned steps except sweeping up the remains. Doesn't sound overblown to me when pets and people should leave the area. Are you a GE stock holder?
