/| I remember a John Waters interview on porn (about the time AIDs was rampant)and he was shocked to see the participants going at it sans condoms. He said it was like watching a snuff film.
Wearing a mask is like safe sex, it’s the responsible thing to do for yourself and others.

Yep. And there are actually people still hooking up for casual sex And wearing face masks while they do it. Meh, no thanks. Rather not have that risk at all & just wait it out.

People are being asked to perform very basic mitigation measures to prevent the spread of a highly infectious lethal virus during a pandemic, not murder Jews.

No I'm saying that people should be willing to question things. Do you think if Dr. Fauci (or any other epidemiologist) was asked if it was alright to question or examine or think over what he said, that he would say that was a bad idea?

It seems to me you are being intentionally obtuse.

You are not asking questions as a reporter might to solicit information from an expert to disseminate to the public. You are questioning their expertise as if their half century+ of studies & experience is completely moot during a viral pandemic and some sort of Alex Jones “question everything THEY tell you!! !” mentality reigns supreme.

It’s getting pretty old on the forums, tbh. Keep it up & IMO you deserve every bit of flaming your flame-baiting gets you.

Questioning, discussing, arguing; that’s the purpose of a website with forums.
We learn, or change our views, or become stronger in our opinions.... this WP community exists FOR communication with each other.
As our contacts are limited, personally I value WP the more because of the lockdown!
I’m in the Health Department’s Purple Zone by the way. :(
I only hope that, no matter what each member’s opinions on precautions, we are all observing those precautions and taking very good care of ourselves.
Please be safe; everyone here matters to me.

NTs need psychical contact, the heck?

Okay, how about they go cuddle their children who still live with them, their parents, their spouses, their siblings. If you live alone, you're f****d.

You are right.
I’m in a little trailer; my dog and cat are beside me, or on my lap, or in bed with me, cuddled and petted constantly.
They are my closest companions anyway.

It seems to me that you have come to the erroneous conclusion that I have an Alex Jones like mentality regarding epidemiologists, even though I haven't written anything that supports such a conclusion. Your flaming is unjustified.

Regardless of what you SAY, your actions and responses illustrate a pattern. You say it's good and right to question and doubt things - that it shows a desire to think for one's self rather than simply accepting what is being told - except when someone questions or doubts YOU, and won't blindly accept what YOU tell them.

It's funny how when people say "think for yourself" they usually actually mean "think what I think". Or when they say "you should be more open to different ideas" they actually mean "you should accept MY ideas".

BTW, quotes do not always mean it is quoting someone. I use quotes to emphasize the fact that I am being non-literal or sarcastic / facetious, or to indicate something that I am stating as an example rather than something I genuinely believe.

Doubt and curiosity have their place. But doubt just for the sake of doubt, in the absence of reason to do so, is little better than being intentionally obtuse, like a child endlessly asking "why" simply because they can - but with the added caveat that if they cannot answer "why" to your (ever doubting) satisfaction, you get to claim they're wrong - as though a physicists inability to totally explain everything about gravity means things could suddenly start falling "up".

If you'll pardon the metaphor, many of your propositions are just the opening lyrics to songs about wild conspiracy theories. We know the song and dance well enough that you can recite the opening lines, and we all know the chorus by that point. You may not have made it to the chorus (I didn't say that!) but it was fairly obvious what song you're singing.

As a result, you end up sounding like vanilla ice trying to explain the "massive difference" between queen's song (de de de de-de-de do) and his song (de de de de de-de-de do), and get offended that we aren't buying it.

You are entitled to your opinion. People are not obligated to agree with you.

I never said that or indicated it. Rather that's something you made up about me.

According to what source?

You were still attributing it to me, even though I've never said anything of the sort.

I've never expressed that claim. Rather that's something you made up to pin on me.

So far you haven't addressed my actual opinion in this thread, but rather addressed a slew of things that you made up. Like Don Quixote you've been tilting at windmills.

The fact that a piece of fabric can prevent viral transmission is not only highly dubious, it is a living joke.

Bull$hit.

The article doesn't prove s**t. It's only an isolated case study.

Common sense suggests masks are beneficial, in most situations, in reducing viral dissemination.

Please submit your own research paper, or a working link thereto, for our own review and study.  You are a fully-qualified virologist, are you not?
I'm a physicist.
Ahh ... Argument from False Authority ... got it!

True, but assuming he is being truthful, he is indicating he has the intelligence, the education and the methodology to make an informed assessment. 8)

Hey, I'm a logical thinker.

But having said that, I agree with your thrust, here. 8)
