Maybe in 50 years, we will be speaking positively of today's agitators....

Or maybe we will look on them as we now look on the Ku Klux Klan marches in Washington in the 1920s.

The purpose of the KKK was to keep black people down. The agitators' purpose is equality for all. Very different things.

Deport them to Canada or Mexico. Or better yet, put them in Guantanamo, where then we can build another big, huge wall around them. I bet the Russian's would pay for it! Then Putin can be invited to the Trump House for a celebration dinner!

Lol you can't deport U.S citizens to other countries

You beat me to it, laughable comment , although I'm sure she may be jesting as she's the cat who got the cream at the moment. I'm sure Trump could pass a law that if you commit a crime you will lose your citizen status therefore crims could be deported to the moon

Actually it was Obama that signed an Executive order that any American can be locked up at any time without a trial. It was signed I believe on New Years Eve when no one was looking.

Yeah, Obama was an effing sellout, too busy trying to compromise with his authoritarian opponents. The next time we're in power, we shouldn't try to play nice like Obama did. It clearly doesn't work.

Those pictures are from hours before the inauguration but yes Obama drew more people in 2008 which is understandable because of the historic nature of his election, I think Obama drew like 1.3 million people. Trump's inauguration is on par with Obama's 2nd inauguration or Dubya's 1st inauguration, heard the number put at 700-800k people.

Sigh. This fascist presidency is DOOMED to fail because more than half of the country are against it. Hell, forget this country. Half of the WORLD is against it.

Right off the bat, Trump is the leader of the WORST cabinet ever. Shame.

White House press secretary whining and lying about how big Trump's inauguration crowd was! Poor little man-child Trump can't handle the reality of him not getting more people than Obama.

People saw the crowd LIVE on television and knew it wasn't as big as Obama's crowd was. Press secretary is trying to throw around FAKE NEWS! Sickening.

This is freaking messed up. The really sad thing is- many people believe a Trump goon over the actual reality of the matter.

I expect to start hearing people say: Trump said it, I believe it, and that settles it.

You said right here, Trump had less people! Are you changing your story because the press secretary made a statement or what?

Press secretary lying right away is horrible for Trump and all his little crooked friends, period.

There is plenty of people that do say similar things now. People refuse to look at facts. Trump is trying to make his fake news into real news. How long before he shuts down tv stations that bash him?

Man, I'll bet whoever coined "fake news" as an excuse for Hillary and/or weapon to use against Trump is just thrilled at the direction the term has taken.

Fake news comes from sources like 4chan or random Facebook posts where people just make stuff up. It also comes from strategic propaganda campaigns. Anyone can buy one.

Media bias is a completely separate issue, and we really shouldn't conflate the two. Media bias is subtle and complicated, and we will need more than sound bites and a clever aphorisms describe it.

Politics is always played with these crowd estimates and Spicer said what he said, I'm just relaying what I heard and debunking the fake news pictures that got spread on social media showing meager crowds for Trump's inauguration. Other fake news is this report that Trump got lower rating for his inauguration than Obama or Bush or Reagan but that's not I think clearly not true by evidence of the amount of attention the media is dedicating to it but it also ignores all the other ways people consume media now like with digital streaming, all added up it was by the far the most watched inauguration in history.

Problem is the MSM gets a lot of its news from social media, it's not anymore reliable that what you see on the internet unless you find the corporations that own that news network more trustworthy for some reason. See CNN and Buzzfeed, it really is the same issue. Media bias is a strategic propaganda campaign, what else would you call it?

One of those is a pretty clear cut aerial view, the other is a forced perspective shot that makes the crowd look thicker than it actually is. It may also have been touched up with Photoshop.

Here are some more comparison photos from different angles

Also there's other angles of the aerial that show the same thing

Pfft fake news
